Hi Chaps and (chapesses if there are any)

I was wondering if anyone on this forum is also an active member on Britmodeller. I am attempting to purchase a kit from a seller on said forum but you cannot post to the Sales threads unless you have 100 posts. Though a member for sometime I have not posted much as I'm not sure my Whatiffery would go down so well. I have posted many times here on the forum of the sane and rational (yes I do mean Whatif) so I think you'll know I'm not some nasty little troll (I couldn't be little if I tried). The thing is the Britmodeller Seller wants me get someone to vouch for me before he receives my money.

I have asked previous guys I bought items off in the past (this is my real use of that forum) but I have to pander to their goodwill, so I thought maybe someone on here may might like to do me a favour....

The Britmodeller thread is .... http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234963884-books-and-pembroke-for-sale/ and I'm on there as Bungled as Bungle was already in use.

They do have a what-if section on BM, though it's not terribly busy. I don't really use it much - particularly the sales section - as I found their implementation of rules to be rather unclear, and the mods in question took offence when I pointed out the potential for misunderstanding.

I can understand their need to confirm the seller as not some fly-by-night swindler but needing you to prove who you are to buy stuff ? Seems strange.

Too many rivets on that site for me (but always in the market for new stash fodder).

It'll be the seller being nervous/paranoid. Perhaps he's been "had" in the past. AFAIK it's not a site rule that you have to prove who you are.

Haven't used that site in ages, not too sure if I'm still a member. Sorry.
