Well guys i said it wouldnt be long before my butt would be haunting this place again ,,,and here i is
I did say that the first thing i would put up is my version of a tracked Stryker .
Now i dont know how many of you blokes have seen the real tracked Stryker but heres a few pics just in case .

and i thought that it looked weird and kinda cheap and the tracks are way to narrow so i decided to build my own and this is it .

Here is how i built it ... take one Trumpeter M1132 with blade ,one Chinese ripoff M2 Bradley ,,,its a direct ripoff of the Tamiya M2 kit and nowhere near as nicely made so it makes it perfect to rip to bits
I replated the lower hull with sheet styrene and mounted the suspension arms with some careful measurements to the hull and then its all in the details from there .
Now this thing does sit lower than the wheeled version so i had to mess about with the blade which is still not prefect yet cause i will have to make new mounts on the blade to get the right amount of movement but i'll get there.
Other than that its a pretty simple conversion ,,not like the next Stryker do hicky thingy i am building and i'll be showing you guys that next

The idea of a tracked Stryker must drive the Stryker haters, M113 lovers completely nuts.
Your version looks awesome!

Kerick , ya it may cause the he M113 boys to have a little fit but hell ,,its called the future and sooner or later its gonna catch up with ya and theres no avoiding it and besides ..this looks way cooler

Captain mate ,, Thank ya buddy .. for me its the same way i used to build real cars ..proportion ..everything has to look right and with a wide vehicle and a narrow track its all wrong ..its like a wide bodied muscle car with its original tires ,,,looks all wrong ,,wide tires ,wide body..now your taking .

Like it. Lke it alot.
Very cool melding of bits there

Thorvic

Well yours looks great, but the real one looks crap as the 4 wheel layout could lead to it being mis-identified as the Chinese APC, yours looks more Western

Excellent!  I really like your version - really looks like it means business!!

Old Wombat

Nice!

I like the wider tracks, I had a plan to do this, too, but I don't have enough Strykers .....

..... Not now that I'm working on building the cargo unit for the HMBLT (thing's become a damned monster).

This is good, I like the concept.  Makes me wonder what a Boxer might look like with the same treatment.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I thank you guys for the very kind words and the comments too which leads me to one comment in particular,, part of what Mossie said ....   Makes me wonder what a Boxer might look like with the same treatment. ... well comments like that are the ones which lead to trouble mate cause sitting on my desk right now is a Revell Boxer and the remains of a Tamiya Leo 2 A6 and anyone with a brain in his head will know whats about to happen  ;D
I have built a LAV25 tracked ..over 15 years ago in fact...and now the Stryker and many thanks to Mossie there is going to be the Boxer too.
Fact i will be starting on that very very soon .
Tonight in fact
There will be a new thread on here as soon as i take a few pics .
I am glad you guys agreed with me about the wider tracks,,it just makes the entire thing look better .

Guy you better get your A into G matey .. my SPG is gonna need supply soon
