Is it my imagination, but doesn't the Yak-23 shout flying boat?

It might if the intake was somewhere other than where it is. You'd either need to move it or raise it a LONG way, like a SARO SRA/1.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You might also have to move the exhaust...?

is Sandy Brown 'Tojo 633' stil on the forum, a serious Yak 15 afficionado, i think he did one a few years back :)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I've seen some Yak-15 photos where they were done like Schneider Trophy racers. One big float and outriggers, I think.

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

Where's the exhaust on the red one?

Don't know Kit. That's the only picture I have.

Where's the exhaust on the red one?

Logically, it would be bifurcated wouldn't you think Kit ?

But to answer LO's question/query, I don't see flying boat in it at all ---  :-\   sorry ---
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Red Yak flying boat fuselage/airframe is raised above a central float/hull so the exhaust is still in the same position under the wing trailing edge and rearwards fuselage but exhaust outlet has been extended back to the end of the float beneath.
The model is made from the Eastern Express kit, actual model is about 8 years old I think now or thereabouts. The float is from either a Fairey Swordfish or Blackburn Shark cannot recall which. Consideration was given to raising the fuselage/airframe slightly above the float, the float was deliberately moved forward to allow for the flow of water over it and away from the jet intake. The Exhaust was extended with a circular section to the end of the float at the rear and is raised above the possible water level. These were the trains of thought when TSR Joe and I considered the design, but remember its what if and not real and yes it was for a hypothetical post World War 2 Schneider Trophy race.
Yak 23 would also be a good one to do, but with the chubbier nature of the fuselage a wider float/hull would suit the fuselage contours. So why doesn't someone build it then?
