How many lumps can you have in your throat at the same time?! That's INCREDIBLE!

Very well spotted Lee, that's a saved vid for sure, with so many interesting vignettes.

The Canadian Lanc has full dual controls from the look of it.

The Mossie's engines were perfectly synched the entire flight, even the landing!

If the Mossie had flown any nearer to the Lanc the Nav would have BEEN the Lanc's tail gunner!

A Hurricane makes an Fw190 look like a toy.

I loved the line 'Lancaster is 2nd to land behind the Seven Thirty Seven'.  ;D

And lastly, I think the guy at the end will probably be wrong about the 10 Merlins airborne at the same time never being able to be repeated. If the BBMF get their act together over the next few months they could do it easily with both Lancs here at the same time, and if the Duxford boys get into the act, who knows how many they could get up there?

I'll be hearing that in cockpit sound track of the Lanc on take-off all day now.  ;D

Just SUPERB!

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The Canadian Lanc is a MK.X Kit, the majority of them had dual controls as they were used for maritime patrol post war.  The two that are near where I live (Nanton and Calgary) also are Mk.X's and actually didn't see war service.  The Nanton Lanc runs up it's engines on a regular basis, if it was on an airfield it could probably do taxi runs like the one in the UK does.

Its a shame the NMUSAF birds aren't airworthy, crankcases are all sealed with preservative.  That would be pure awesome for airshows and the Heritage Flight

The US, though, has the Collings Foundation, a private organization performing much the same mission as the BBMF and then some.

Cheers,

Ah, that explains it. Presumably also the same reason it has a Martin mid-upper turret, yes? Are they twin .50s in there or .303s like the BBMF Lanc?

The BBMF already equalled the '10 Merlins airborne at once' business this week as both Lancs, a Hurricane and a Spitfire flew at the Eastbourne event yesterday. And it occurs to me that the Duxford Boys had already done it, albeit with single engined aircraft, as they put up 16 (or maybe even more...) Spitfires at their 2000 event.

Twin .50s, at the Aerospace Museum in Calgary (south end of YYC) where they are attempting to restore the Lanc there to flying condition, the volunteers have done a really good job with the Martin turret that came out of it and will eventually be put back in.

From this link, it seems they might have given up trying to get it to flying condition, it's also been re-painted since I last saw it.

http://www.asmac.ab.ca/exhibits/avro-lancaster-mk-x

It had been painted with an anti-UV primer as it was stored outside, they have since built a huge tent like hanger over most of the outside exhibits.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
