Ok, update on the putty beast!!
After a few more months of sitting on the stalled builds pile, waiting for a new intake, the F-16W is back in the workshop and finally, intake, lower and aft fuselage, wings and horizontal stabs are in shape and in place!!
Now, still a few PSR sessions to go, before inscribing panel lines, i'm thinking of a scheme and backstory for this...

Hoping to move faster from here on as the hardest part of sculpting/assembly is mostly done. I almost gave up on this a few times now, but every time i looked at it, i heard it's cry...  :banghead: ...i can't leave my firstborn behind... ;D

Not sure... i was thinking of this in the near future, around 2016/17, as an option for a modern 4,5 generation fighter for countries that will need to modernize their air forces in the next decades, but won't be able to afford aircraft like the F-35...
So maybe promotional american/factory markings? Maybe with a foreign buyer's markings and scheme? This is always a hard choice for me... :banghead:
Any ideas are very welcome!

Why not Go Gerry Anderson and Make it a World Air Force Fighter? Your Design looks like something from Shows like Thunderbirds,Stingray,Captain Scarlet or Joe 90! hope this Helps. Dan

Well, that sure is a different suggestion... i'm not really familiar with the shows you've mentioned but i do recall the stingray show being aired here in Portugal sometime in the 80s. I will look into it to see if i can find some inspiration. Thanks!

Lovely!
(The backstory could be a design for a civilian beauty contest, for sure, but feel free to invent your own world, of course)

So, it's back! Ah ah, i've finally finished the long PSR sessions on the putty beast!!

There wasn't much left to do but these last months, i've always managed to find something else to do instead of sanding... :banghead:
Now, i'm calling the PSR done cause, although a long way from perfect, i can't be bothered with it when i already have all the plastic parts i need to build another one, better than this, with landing gear and all! ;D
Still a few panel lines to re-scribe on the top fuselage, i'm leaving the rest as is, i just can't imagine the frustration of ruining all the work with messy panel lines.
As i imagine the changes i've done to be an experimental kit, made to be to retro-fitted to all blocks of F-16 airframes, this could be seen as an upgrade package to bring it up closer to 5th Gen fighters, regarding radar cross-section, range and maneuverability.
The way i figure this is:
1- Larger wings could probably increase range
2- Plan-form alignment of wings and stabs, 10ยบ canted twin tails, DSI and 2D TVC flat nozzle to reduce radar cross-section and enhance maneuverability
At least this is what imagine the changes could do...

This kit would be an air-to-air capability upgrade for the Viper so it would carry the aim-120D, 9X, etc., but i won't loose much time over that cause i'll be taking several pics along the way and i'll be able to choose which goes where later on anyway. I do have to decide which pylons will be on before i give it a coat of primer... but there's still some work before that, mainly just touch up the pilot and cockpit area so it should't be too long before some paint.
Let's see if i can get this done before the year ends, 2 years in the making is long enough...

That's come along really nicely.

I vote for an RNZAF scheme...  Just sayin'...  ;D

Well, i haven't decided what markings to use and i will consider you suggestion, i like the RNZAF lo-vis schemes a lot so it will be a strong candidate... I just have to scrounge through my decal stash to see if i have the right ones...  Still, it will probably depend on the backstory.
