I'm going to take the train down to this show on the Saturday as an ordinary punter. Anybody else thinking of going ?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hopefully I will be able to make it.

How you getting there as I have not been before, and the train from Waterloo seems to be the best bet and change for Frimley.

I'll be there displaying with my club. More'n happy to meet up for coffee etc. There's also a decent pub just across the road from the venue for a bevvie or 2.
It's a good show, at one of the SIG meets many many moons ago, I broached the subject of us displaying there. Perhaps this might be looked at again??

It's almost the spiritual home of Whiffing in the UK.  ;D

It was at a Farnbrough Plaskitfest, I think in 1972, where I first met Mike McEvoy and we both recognised a kindred spirit, but that was some years before the SIG itself was formed.

I'm picking the train up at Clapham Junction and then yes changing at Ash Vale.

It was Mike who put me on to it and I'll be meeting up with him there

Think I've worked out the walk from Station to show. When I used Streetmap Frimley Station doesn't show up, it's buried under a cluster of road junctions  :banghead:

Better take some rations with me just in case I get lost in deepest Surrey

What time are you planning on getting there? Rather than walking I could pick you up from the station. Give it a think about.

It's ok Lance. I'm probably going to be flexible on the day, I've got a train every 30mins from CJ and it's not to long a journey. The walk will do me good  ;D

Nice show, knackering journey.

Be nice to get a table here next year ?

Not a bad idea that, it's decades since I've been back there.

What are the chances OGL?

its not on my radar but nothing to stop anyone else running the stand if we can get in on the show.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I'm more than happy to step up and run the stand if we can get a spot next year. It seems we've got a few people who'll step up and attend. Will you look into it OGL?

I also think it'll be good exposure for the SIG as apart from Avon we have no exposure in the south of the country. I've wanted to change that.

I'd help out there too, the Farnborough Show has a sort of 'Dawn of UK Whiffing' feel  about it for me.  ;D
