Well my train tickets arrived this morning

Me and Steve are at the Holiday Inn so are in Telford this year. I'm staying Friday through to Monday morning. Should be ok for dinner Friday and Saturday

As for what I'm bringing ? Just 2 bearing in mind I travel by public transport and they will be a Blenheim Mk I and a Hurricane Mk I fabric wing with 20mm cannon, neither in RAF service.

Well, anither year and still no change in circumstances, so  I won't be there this year, and you have NO idea how pissed off I am about that! I guess it's fingers crossed for next year now.  Have a good show guys.

Not sure what I'm bringing, do we have a theme at all? I expect I'll have at least one PR19, plus my Hawker Cyclone and the Lightning PR9, which will surely be done by then, plus anything else that falls to hand while I'm packing the model box.

Theres a mini theme that been keeping Mike McEvoy and a few others busy this year. His 1940 Hendon air show.
Not really a SIG theme, but the mini theme's idea appears to work well for our Telford stands.

I'll be there on the Sunday.  I haven't finished anything this year but I'm hoping to have two models finished.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

BTW The show guide with the general layout and locations has been uploaded onto the official SMW website.

For reference the What If SIG, Project Cancelled SIG and Freightdog models are all in Hall 1 in block H although on based on what we can see it appears the SIG's will be back to back rather than side by side at the moment (the SIGs are green on the plan and Branches are blue).

Me and Martin will see if we can get the exact positions revised to be closer to Colin and an Exit so some of our more mature members don't have to fight their way down the back of other stands to get their seats (and rapidly growing stash horde  ;D). One point to note is that we are with some of the North West IPMS Branches and as such they too will have a healthy membership who may turn up in numbers so it could get quite cosy inside the block.

Also had the paperwork from 'Roger the Cabin Boy' about the show timetable and the rules, but I'll let Martin explain the ones regarding drinking behind the stands .

So good luck with getting your builds complete for the show, remember to get your travel and/or accommodation sorted out and check the show guide for the layout of traders and stands you want to visit most, as choice items your after may have sold out before you eventually make your way round to that stall.

Remember no under table sales are allowed behind the stands, if you have items for open sale then they must be sold through the kitswap, however pre-arranged deals organised through the forum are not a problem so if your after selling items for collection at SMW, best think about getting up a post now.

Another aspect to remember is start to think about your wish lists, if there are specific and possibly rare items you are really looking for let the crew know in advance, either somebody may have one in their stash which they are willing to pass on, or some of the skilled members can ferret out those specific items as they know the best places to look and will clock them if they know somebody is after them. Its no good looking glum at the end of the day and mention that you couldn't find what you were looking for when its too late to do anything about it, as nearly always somebody will say 'oh I have one in the loft you could have had' or 'you should have said as I saw one of those earlier'.

Of course part of the fun of the show for the SIG is the discussions with the member's, quite often a chat will develop that will suddenly provide inspiration to build something, it can look like a Treasure hunt at times as members scatter in groups looking for specific kits or decals following a particular brain storming session and the inspiration strikes !. On that point if your looking to another member for specific information, remember to give them a PM or an email as they may be able to check their references in advance and bring the information with them.

Radish

I will be there...
BE AFRAID.....SIG of GOTH will be in force in full costume (we may even have t-shirts)....and I'll be stuck on there with BIGGLES next to it. Probably nowt for the table, I'm afraid, but I have ideas....of course, if we have overflow on the Biggles stand, there may be something "odd" coming your way.
We're in Hall 2 apparently.
I'll be recognisable as the armed Zombie Viking in a kilt.

I'm staying in the International hotel on site.

In short. All in moderation. And no one who been drinking on the Sunday is to take part in any marshaling duties once the show closes.
I get the feeling this aimed at a certain SIG that maintains its own hospitality table behind their stand. The center management have had words about it in the past.

So there's no excuse for anyone found dozing off behind the stand while clutching a wine glass, eh Chris?  :drink:

That said, I do have a bottle of something to share this year.

PR19_Kit

That's going to cramp the style of the some of the European visitors then.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Nah i think the euroenclave will still be there as they sort of do it within their island, the measures are to curb the IMPS UK lot tring to emulate them, its not banned they just ask that its kept discreet, so keep the wine box and bottles off the tables please

That's fine, perfectly sensible. Must admit I feared something more draconian.

I have no idea what you are talking about  Besides I was tired from all the travelling the previous day  ;D Anyway wasn't my fault you lot left me on my own in charge of a couple of wine boxes

I shall bring a nice Claret me thinks.
