Time to find out what evening people want for our traditional visit to the Chinese buffet in Telford town center.

Only vote if your going to Telford for SMW14.

Looking at where I'm staying on the Telford Uni campus info, there's a Flaming Grill pub in Priorslee which is only 5 minutes drive from the station.

Think it might make a change from having Chinese both nights?

Well I'm easy regarding the night but I'll vote for Saturday simply because I hopefully won't be so tired.

Will feel a bit odd not being there this year. Somebody eat an extra plate for me!  ;D

Captain Canada

You gave me an option so I took it ! One of these days guys....one of these days ! Have fun !

Where's my beer ?

The Wooksta!

I'm in Shrewsbury, so the Ramna Balti house is a must both days.  One of the best rubies in the country so I can't pass it up, plus Newcastle has a good selection of chinese buffets - the No. 1 on Stowell Street is my favourite as they have the nicest barbecue sauce.

I wonder if Chinese Buffets in the UK taste the same as Chinese Buffets in the States. I really ought to make a trip out to Telford with you guys someday.

You really should, yes, and not just to sample the Chinese buffets.  ;D

In my experience ; no. Chinese food in the UK is mainly from the Hong Kong area for obvious reasons (that is changing) not sure about in the U.S. but when I've had a Chinese over there it's been very different. Mind you there was a big difference between Chinese food in New York and L.A.

Problem with the U.S. is the inability to get a half way decent curry. Talking to a chef over there it's because they can't get the ingredients. Mind you Indian food in India is nowt like it is in the U.K. neither is Chinese in China. The hottest food I have ever eaten was in Szechuan, it was just way to hot to taste anything and I like hot curries.

Actually giving serious thought to sleeping in the car rather than driving all the way home and back on the Saturday night, so may well be able to make the Saturday night.

I don't know what budget you have but do look at the IPMS site for the deal they have with the uni campus in Telford. Only £38 per night B&B and a 10 minute drive to the centre.
