As always though....depressing  :-\ in a "I might as well take up knitting" sort of way! :-\

In the above photos of the I can see at least 3 models that are finished products of ideas I'd hope to get round to doing at some point in the future

Never, ever let either of those stop you. At first I thought my models weren't good enough but if the S.I.G. is one thing, it is extremely supportive and friendly  (yes I know that's two thing) We've even had a 5 year old show his model and his got more questions then the rest of us put together  Cheeky little so and so  ;D

As for repeating ideas ? They are just your interpretation of a similar idea - happens to me all the time
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Cheers everyone for taking so many pics!

Part 3

Whoa!  :o  I mean... WHOA!   Very cool!
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Part 3

What WAS that?   :o

And who built it anyway? I never did find out but it was superbly thought out, and built too.

Mine and the build thread is here http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,38437.0.html

Glad you liked it Kit.

I certainly did Alastair, it was magnificent.  Presumably JayBee 'imported' it to the Show for you?

It was only allowed on the table once Jim's passport and customs clearances had been checked ;D

Hopefully one year I will manage to return to Telford under my own steam as it were. Hopefully before 2019 though as that would be ten years since my last visit  :banghead:

I just found these three lurking on my camera's SD disc.

They're from Class 33 of the Competition, the Whiff Class,  and the Princess is 1/72 scale (HUGE!) and the 3 seater Tonka was 1/144 (TINY!)

A couple of us got at little bit JMN about that Princess. It was very, very nice, it was just the national markings looked a little odd. Strange mix of national markings for the period and the "P" looked to small and in the wrong place.

He may have had a reason but it just spoilt (to me and one or two others anyhow) what was a very, very good model. Maybe if it had been on a table rather then the comp you could have chatted to the bloke (or lass) and got his reasons for the choice. There is a guy in the Teesside club who does big flying boats, and a lot are scratch built, so it may be his. He usually attends Southern Expo, so if he's there and it is his I shall have a chat

Looking at the photos, I do have to agree with Narses comments about the Princess.
However as she is a Princess she is surely permitted a little Royal prerogative.

As far as the Three seat Tonka is concerned, I saw it and thought it very nice, but DAMN I did not notice it was a THREE seater at least until it was mentioned here.  :banghead:

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

I've got a 1/72 princess on my shopping list, Execuform do one
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

TallEng

I have to agree too about the Princess, the prototype 'P' is in the wrong place,
And the fuselage roundel doesn't look right either, but it does look grand

And while we're making "observations" the three seater Tornado is carrying one
Of my pet hates; Drop tank halves pretending to be conformal fuselage tanks.
I'm afraid that's exactly what they look like....

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

PR19_Kit

Those 'conformal' tanks aren't very conformal at all, but I like the general idea. Doing it in 1/144 is REALLY masochistic though!
