Here is my RN version of the Airfix RNLI Lifeboat. Built OOB with a RN-style colour scheme. I have left off the starboard side to show the interior:

This build was mothballed for years when I moved to Scotland. It suffered a lot of damage in the move and I basically bunged it back together again just to get it out of the way. The photos probably flatter it a bit and I have promised myself that will build another one "properly" next year!

Whats it like to build?  I've had mine in the stash for some time, I keep picking it up and putting it back again.

There is definitely an art to building this thing. The waterlining of the hull can be bit of a problem and shortly after the kit was released, Airfix asked me to produce a tutorial on how to waterline the hull so that they could send out help sheets to customers having problems trying to waterline it. There can also be problems getting the hull sides and deck aligned and getting the front of the superstructure to line up with the superstructure sides.
