I tried to apply decals but the old Micro Scale sheet I have for F-105s is so old the decals just shatter. I'll have to overspray them with something. I know glosscoat will work but has anyone tried Future on decal sheets? I'm trying to stay away from glosscoat as the fumes inside the house are pretty bad and its too cold to spray anything outside.

Yes, it works fine as a seal coat. Over here in the UK it's called Klear but it's the same stuff.

I brush it on as it coats so nicely that way, but spraying would work just as well I'm sure, and I'd give it two coats to make sure. The only disadvantage is you have to trim the decals closely afterward, but to a man of your skills that's small beer I'm sure.  ;D

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

I'm going to try that tonight! I used a small spray bottle for a mouth wash type product I got from my dentist. It's the finest spray I've found with out an airbrush. I used it on the model and it still wasn't fine enough, that's why some of it looks a little blotchy. Other parts of the model it was dripping off. I'll use a brush next time. Thanks!

I used Model Master enamel Field Green, Euro Dark Green and Gunmetal. The brown is Testors gloss brown 1140. The gunmetal looks almost purpleish when wet but dries black, but not quite gloss black. I'm glad to see the Future didn't turn the greens darker like I've had happen with gloss coat. We'll see what happens when the dull coat hits it.

The Future on the decals seems to be working well. I'll let it dry all night and see what happens in the morning.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I use wide, flat brushes for Klear coating and I find that a light brush load works better than a heavy one. That means you need to re-load the brush more frequently but it's not too much of an issue. You may find you get lots of little air bubbles appear on the surface after the first coat and it's best to brush these out as sometimes they dry still in place!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks for all the positive comments and helpful hints!
