Looking good ! I think I liked the originals better, those ones look too F-18. But I guess they run in the family !

Nice looking train too. Some day I'd like to get back into that.

My son bought it for me for Christmas a couple years ago. It was off eBay so this time of year he must have paid a lot. I would like to add some more cars and track but after Christmas

Thanks. I try to do a little something as often as possible. Helps me keep my sanity

I know exactly what you mean! The problem always seems to be time, that slippery little devil...  :banghead:

We have pylons everywhere!

I'm thinking of using the F-105 gas bags on the outer pylons.

Now I have to figure out how to attach the main gear securely. As you can see in pic 1 there is no attachment point for it. Just flat plastic. I'll probably go with some small reinforcing plates

Pylons are looking good !

Can you drill through the wing to set the gear and then putty over the blemish on the upper wing ?

I had not thought of that. I'll keep that in the back of my mind just in case. Of course the back of my mind is pretty cluttered.

The SU-105 is up on her legs. I glued some plastic blocks to the underside of the upper wing half and drilled a hole to accept the peg on the gear leg. I think I got the forward sweep of the gear legs right. There is plenty of room for the F-105 tanks and a TER under the fuselage. Now I have to decide on a paint scheme. SEA does not thrill me. Its either the Polish Air Force scheme with US markings or Israeli paint and markings. At least I already have decals for each.

Glad she's up on her feet ! I think she'd look awesome in the lizard scheme. But it's you're aeroplane, so between the two choices you have given, I'd go Polish. To me, nothing seems to look good in Israeli colours other than Israeli a/c.

I'm pretty sure I have the colors needed to do the Polish AF scheme. At least close enough for whiffing. That's a plus. Leaning towards the Polish pattern unless something awesome turns up.
BTW, the American Flyer train went into the shop for a lube and clean job. Runs much smoother now.

Cool. Also glad to hear the train set is running smooth ! One of these days I'm going to build another layout.

Working on adding a Thunderstick II style dorsal hump. I'll do anything to put off painting.

Installed the Dorsal hump last night. Minimal PSR as I was able to get it to fit pretty good. Back to pondering painting.
