I hope to get some decals on today once I have the Christmas decorations put away. :banghead:

We have a big "hair of the dog" party on New Years day, so that's the perfect excuse for us to get our Christmas decorations packed away beforehand. I used to complain about it, as it really shortened the Christmas season, but it's actually nice to get done.

On the other hand, I've switched from colourful outdoor lights to all white, so I can leave them on. I just call them Winter lights

I've suggested permanent lights that can change colors for different seasons and holidays. I get overruled as being too "redneck".

I didn't even put any decorations or lights up this year.  Makes it a lot quicker packing them up.
I usually turn the car port into "Fred's tunnel of light" much to the chagrin of the neighbour opposite who finds it backlights his TV.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I had one artificial tree and two fake deer with lights in the front yard. Much easier to remove after 1 Jan.

Well, the decal situation is going poorly. The future coating on the old Micro Scale sheet is helping put some still break. Even after coating the whole model in Future the decals are silvering or something. Long story short, it looks like crap. Too much invested in this one to quit now. I think I'll just have to part with some cash and get new decals. What sucks is I must have 20 or more Micro Scale sheets that are probably in the same condition. I might as well get something for the updated F-101 while I'm at it. The F-101 needs painting completed so I'll work on that for a while.

Micro Sol to the rescue! Things look much better after applying Micro Sol and letting things dry over night. Except the national insignia are so slightly off register I didn't see it until the thin white half moon showed up when placing the decal on the dark paint. I replaced the upper left wing insignia three times, Don't ask. I also managed to spill both the bottle of Micro Set and Micro Sol all over the place. At least there is enough to finish this and the F-101 projects left. I'm doing this a few decals at a time as my patience is very thin with this project. When things are dry I'll take some new pics.

A little touch up paint on the field green where it didn't cover with one coat. When I brushed on some Future over the touch ups they blended right in.

A few details to attach yet. If I had added the horizontal stabs they would have probably broken off by now at the rate things were going on this bird. Still needs the canopy, bomb load and a jammer pod too. I'm just glad to be past the decal stage.

Sweet!! That 105 looks somehow much better with the Su17 wings stuck on it...

She'd be a better interceptor than bomber, Kerrick. Put some AIM-7s on her. She's perfect to hunt MiGs now!

I've got her all painted up for mud moving now! I still have the two seat SU-22 kit that I'm planning to do with a radome and side air intakes. That could be an interceptor. How about Canadian markings as the aircraft that beat out the F-101?
