Hey Guys, i was doing a Little Thinking when an Idea Came to me:What If the SR-71 and Parts from an F-89 Scorpion were Combined to Creat a "GA" Style High Altitude Interceptor? I'm Talking  something Like Splicing Part of an F-89 Wing onto the Body of and SR-71 for a Really Exotic,High Tech looking Plane like You'd See in an Episode of Thunderbirds. What Say You? Thanks for Looking. Dan

Captain Canada

Kind of hard to imagine it....so you'd better just build it so we can opine then

The SR-71 wings , now if they could be added to an airliner fuselage. Concorde !
Or the Vulcan
Or Victor

I misinterpreted the thread title. I thought the "GA" stood for "General Aviation" so I was expecting to see a Piper Cherokee with sidewinders...

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Thirded!  I had a great idea for the "bad idea" group build, but that GB never got off the ground.  Guess I should just do it.

Well it could likely look pretty neat, and good for a Gerry Anderson type build, but not so much for real world aerodynamics.

I've got a couple of those Revell 1/32 sailplanes in The Loft. Does anyone make a 1/32 turret mounted Minigun?  ;) ;)

1/35 is close enough, if you've got a Cobra there as well

Yep, although my mind went to a Cessna 195 with underwing guns.  ;D

Although Beech did propose a pursuit based on the Model 17:

Agreed, although I had the Auster Aggressor in mind with a gunpod or two under the cab and interrupter gear on the prop..

That's awesome, jcf. Now I want to see that thing with retractable gear like most Staggerwings.

Best contact Talos then.  ;)

We await the results.  ;D

Logan Hartke

Heh, I'm good enough with Photoshop that I could do that one on my own, but Talos and I are more than busy enough with our half dozen unfinished joint products to go starting anything new anytime soon! You'll like some of the stuff we have coming up.

Cheers,

Logan
