Trimaran aircraft carrier.

An idea just came to me. Well.........sort of. Was thinking about this long ago, but then kinda forgot about it.
Anyway, I was thinking of creating a trimaran hulled aircraft carrier. Maybe buy a USS Independence LCS, use the hull from that, then slap on a Nimitz type carrier flight deck on top of the hull. I'm pretty sure I'd have to use a 1/350 scale LCS and a 1/700 scale carrier flight deck to make this work.
Anybody else got any other suggestions?
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

There's a company who's name escapes me now that did a resin kit of a stealth carrier. I've seen one somewhere on this site, I'm sure. Possibly Thorvic, or maybe JoeP has one.

EDIT: There we go, it's by JAG. http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/ships/cv/cvx/700-jag/jag-review.html It's not a trimaran, but probably could (should?) be given the shape of the side flight decks.

An Independence hull would be a good starting point for a similar build, I think. Not sure how it would scale out, but definitely worth a look. There's also the old Revell 1:144 Sea Shadow kit that could be used, though it's a catamaran rather than a three-huller. An interesting reference might be the British "Global Cruiser" concepts from a few years ago.

I know about the JAG stealth carrier kit, but can't purchase it yet as I don't have the money. And if I do buy it, it'll be used for a my stealth display project which I talked about in a different thread in this forum.
I'd like to get a Sea Shadow, but it's difficult as the kit is out of production and almost impossible to get.

I've got the JAG kit and it is an absolute gem. That said, you'd need a rotary saw to turn it into a trimaran.

Are you thinking about doing the oddly offset landing zone like the old AVPRO art?

There's one on Ebay in the US for $9 at the moment! Item no. 321591815582.
