One of those weird times when real world stuff just glances the boundaries of What If.......

English Electric Lightning F.6

Uh, that's pretty! So simple and subtle... great!

PR19_Kit

The model's great, no doubt from the new Airfix kit?

But the Whiffness is SO subtle I can't see it.  :banghead: :banghead:

OK, it's in a 74 Sqdn scheme, but in camo, whereas their RW F6s were in NMF schemes out in Singapore, but where does 11 Sqdn. fit into the scenario?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

It`s the 1990`s Airfix F.6 1/48 kit Kit and the backstory is all revealed in the link below.

Ahah, NOW I  understand, thanks.

It's model of a RW Whiff then?  ;D

A similar job could be done with a Bucc as 208 Sqdn. painted some of their aircraft in various schemes when they disbanded.

.... and just to confuse you a bit more, XR761 is actually an old `Tiger` from the Singapore days.

I can only assume thats why she was chosen for the 74 Sqn scheme on the day.

Sadly she was lost in the North Sea in 5 years later, but thankfully the pilot was recovered safe and sound.
