T-64's are not T-56's. That's why I was wanting clarification. So there is NOT a T-56 Neptune conversion.

That's why it says 'Almost' at the start of my post................  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Is there a big difference between the two engines?

PR19_Kit

Afraid so, the cowlings are very different.

P-2J with T-64s

EP-3C with T-56s.

But this IS Whiffworld, as I've mentioned many times before....

I suppose if you are a perfectionist then you want to get the correct engines, shape and details right
With me its to do with shapes that fit or blend together.

You could always nick the T-56's off a passing Hercules.....
Which would then give you a Hercules in need of some engines
RR Tynes would look good...
All of which makes me think it might
Be useful to make Resin castings

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

If you can get hold of a Northwing  conversion set for the Kawasaki version of the Neptune it will well be worth having, as it contains a new forward fuselage, turbo prop engines and wing mounts, jet engine pods, landing gear, cockpit and decals. I have probably missed a few other bits out as it has been a long time since I looked at the box never mind in it. I was going to make one of my Hasegawa kits in to a counter Neptune, belonging to the Honduras airforce. A solid nose with some cannon fitted and a minigun also. Making turbo- prop engines to your own design to fit a piston engine  plane is quite simple, getting an appropriate propeller is the hardest part.
Chris.
PS, if you want some of the engines on their own give OGL a nudge as he copied mine a few years back.

Something I'm working on for my Canadair Yukon project (converted 1/72 Britannia)
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

On sale but not available....must be sold out. The Dynavert would have been a nice one to get my hands on too ! Maybe grab an Argus tho.

I could put those lumps and bumps on the Caravelle, thanks again Kit.

With the hype about the release of the 1/72 Revell Avro Shackleton AEW and Airfix Shackletons. Seems that the resin, plastic or vacform AN/APS 20, prices are becoming more affordable.

With the aid of a razor saw I intend to swap over the Neptune's radar and replace it with the AN/ASP20. Likewise two others will have the E-2 Hawkeye resin ASP-125 and the other the Grumman E-1 Tracer radome Hazeltine AN/APS-82.
No doubt one will loose its vertical tail, but this will be added to an Avro Shackleton at a later stage.

Just need to find a catapult kit big enough or arrestor hook for a carrier landing/take off scene.

As I was on Google, I found that someone had compared the fuselage length of a 1/72 Avro Shackleton MR3 to the fuselage of a Lockheed Neptune SP-2H/P-7V. There almost the same length minus the glazed arears fore or aft.

Captain Canada

Ya I've heard that before.....I think. I know the Neptune is a big aeroplane !
