Perusing the stash for a quick build to get some mojo back, spotted the older Dragon BMP2, since it was ordinary when released the new offerings would leave it for dead.
That got me thinking about a Twilight 2000 era build.
Went together with no angst, really refreshing actually. Next was to give a personality for a post Apocalyptic feel, so some mods were necessary.
I was thinking Finnish hybrid experimental recon vechicle, caught up in the Twilight 2000 setting

Firstup I tried the Sabre turret from an Accurate Armour FV432 IFV

That sort of did not work and really did not offer much over the kit turret. So went back to that.

Then got to thinking, if you had access to a base workshop with bits lying around, some basic engineering and a gas axe, what about adding a few T-72 bits to improve the vehicle survivability in a Post Apoc world.
Used some left over Tamiya/Dragon T-72 bits like the cupola, DSHK and some turret bins

Next some more bits to add to the Post Apoc feel, like some addon armour, more stowage and the like

Looks good. I like the original turret as well.

Lots of potential here!!
I would imagine that surviving would take a lot of luggage. Have to grab all the food, ammo, etc possible at every opportunity. So maybe even a trailer made from a cut down truck bed?

Buzzy mate ..I like it .. simple and clean and seriously workable ..this is am going to watch pretty closely  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Put on some field expedient addon armour and also the Stowage almost done

Stuff on the back

and sides

Final bit will be some spare track and roadwheels on racks on the front of the vehicle.
Still doing my "engineering drawings" on that to come up with a feasible method on the rails I have already put on.
But all in all.. almost there withe next stop after that, the paint shop and the final bits and bobs post paint like ration boxes.

Captain Canada

Nice ! Love all the additions. The rope holding down the tarp looks good, and thanks for the idea !

looking good, are you planning finishing it in the multi coloured splinter scheme as currently used ?

Yep... as the basis then some "field painting" of the addons.

kerick

Sounds like a plan! I'll be watching.

Thanks folks.

Some swift work over the holiday period and this is as good as it is going to get.
A couple of nice figures.. more Russiany than Finnish but given the Twilight 2000 scenario.. they set the scene

Now.. back to normal programming

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Boy, that didn't take you long to Finnish ! And the rusty armour : how did you make that Finnish ? This thread is more Finnish already  Besides, if anybody asks, I'd offer them to try and read their paperwork.

Great job on this one. Love all the added bits. The armour plates especially, the rusty look and the blown away bit. Very well done. Any in-progress pics ?
