Cheers for the reccomendations guys.   I picked up:

Yellow Blue Tibia by Adam Roberts.  Very intrigued by the synopsis.
Gardens of the Moon (Malazan Book of the Fallen 1).  Looks interesting and almost as important, inexpensive.
Once Dead (The Rho Agenda Inception Book 1) by Richard Phillips.  On offer for just a pound
Dead Wrong (The Rho Agenda Inception Book 2) by Richard Phillips.  As above.

Thanks again, and I may pick up some of the other recommendations later.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The veil starts to lift.

Mike M got a copy of this at Telford and I finally picked up a copy yesterday. Osprey's "Steampunk Soldiers - Uniforms and Weapons from the Age of Steam"

Steampunk has always been a mystery to me. As said I've now had a peek and it deserves a deeper delve  ;D

I'd be interested in hearing what you think of Child44. Just finished it.

I had a couple books to finish but started Child44 on Sunday, just finished it. I very much liked it....very interesting style of writing. Having read Cullen's "Killer Department", and very much liking the film "CitizenX", gave an advantage to enjoying this book. Think I'll read his next two.

It's the BUSINESS!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Actually I meant the book.  ;D

I hate the aeroplane with a passion as I consider it the prime cause of my deafness.  :banghead:

added this one to the Library Today, from the makers of the "Wunderwaffen" series of Luft'46 comics, comes "Zeppelins War: the night raiders". its written and drawn by the same team behind Wunderwaffen, but takes place in 1916 during WW1. some very nice redesigned planes, with the biplane wings swept back.

i found this at a book store while looking for Wunderwaffen 3, it looks great, but the storyline isnt that good as its Luft'46 themed brother.
but a great item to have if you like Steam- and/or Dieselpunk  ;D

im definalty going to convert and redesign some WW1 kits to the same configuration.

That cover looks a lot like the Zeppelins Vs Dinosaurs movie poster from Hammer except they used Fokker DVII's.

GCHQ by Richard Aldrich. A wonderful and eye-opening look at how Britain has spied on the rest of the world since the 1930s using signals intelligence, code-breaking, human agents, listening devices and computer hacking. Lots of hidden details that match up to other parts of the MI5 and MI6 story as well as the truth behind Britain keeping 99 square miles of Cyprus...

Did you know about the plans for GCHQ to build a spy ship that would sail the world soaking up messages and satellite signals? This being the 1960s it was of course nuclear powered and the size of an aircraft carrier....  :o

I bought my father Empire of the Clouds: When Britain's Aircraft Ruled the Skies by James Hamilton-Paterson for his birthday.
He raced through it while resting up after a hernia op and can't speak highly enough of it.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
