Well, in 2016 I may build a more simple version: the F4U-15 keeping its normal nose with the pedalling crew inside a wing pod:

These ones (15 and 15Z) had no engine at all, due to the lack of remaining oil (someday) in USA, they were muscular-power all.

Makes perfect sense to me, i've always had to pedal my bolz off to fly with my bmx, don't see why it shouldn't be done to fly aircraft!

Thanks! This has been done with succesful muscular airplanes, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gossamer_Albatross but not in the Corsair family up to now
