Well, my Argentinain Su-24 is 90% complete..too late for "Silly Week" on ARC, so I'll post it here first!

please do. but if you don't mind, I'm sure that someone will post a whiffed interceptor in RAF markings [naturally] or a P1154RN [take your pick of adaptable
FAA sqn markings] or both, promptly intercepting your argie Su-24.  :o

there are times when this site needs a wee bit of humor and this is one thread that certainly does. I think.  ;)

... or perhaps an RAF/RN aircraft escorting an Argentine Su-24 as they attack the Nazi Antarctic base?
That would be funny, the other scenario, not so much.

Now that we are pals with the French, they've got a carrier and aircraft to go with it. Paint over the roundels and change the name of the boat/ship.
That is one way to go about it I suppose.....

Not sure how Lord Nelson would have felt about a development like this though. ;)

The French build many hundreds of fine ships for the RN in the 18th and 19th Centuries.  Granted, cutlasses and prize money were involved in the 'aquisition' of pretty much all of them...

Well I have a Fencer C in the stash. I won't be done for Bolton, but perhaps Hudders. I seem to have rerolled 4th Air Brigade into an Interdictor unit. Well I like the unit badge.

I am now told Jan-28th is S Americas' April Fools day. DOH!   Still a good Wif.
I was thinking today that as Peru sent Mirage 5s to the FAA in '82. What if they had sent the Su-22s instead? Spookily enough just after buying an Su-22, or four at Bolton

Behind closed doors in the UK there are serious plans afoot. The Argentinian government are in the poo right now and there's nothing better at a time like this for a bit of nationalistic sabre-rattling, if not unscabbarding. Things could go....... :banghead:.

Basically what they did in '82  then. Except this time we have no navy ------- Oh Poo!

I would say Geoff that there is probably a RN SSN on patrol now somewhere in the south atlantic ocean just waiting in case of
the 'neighbours' down there getting militarily narked off and seeking to stage round 2 of the falklands war. but I maybe wrong.

Considering the way the pooh is hitting the fan right now in Argentina over the death of Diego Lagomarsino in rather a mysterious "suicide" anything is possible.  Cristina Kirchner is not looking good at the moment.

Keeping an eye on the number of Voyagers leaving Brize and turning south may indicate things one way or another.

Currently the  only 'civvie' Voyager is used on the South Atlantic route for staff and supplies while a tanker lives at Mt. Pleasant for a month at a time on detachment.

It was discussed at Bolton and "we" decided that they couldnt afford Fencers but recieved these

at the princely sum of four ton of tinned corned beef and a Patagonian berthing blanket  per unit.

There was something about keeping Jeremy Clarkson as well but I cant find the article.

ps: The Argentinians did bloody well with some cast of Skyhawks lord only knows what sort of trouble we could get into if they had Fencers,

To be fair, we have substantially more than the Argentinians - their flagship sank at anchor because of a lack of maintenance and their subs are currently barely spending enough hours submerged for their crews to learn to keep themselves alive, never mind train to attack one of the world's premier ASW forces.

The RN's suffered a lot over the last couple of decades but nowhere near what the Argentinian navy has. The RN is also now massively better equipped than it was in 1982 (even if we have far fewer ships than back then) - a single T-45 probably has more anti-air capability than the entire Task Force did in '82, the T-23s are extremely capable ASW ships and the SSNs are virtually holes in the sea that the Argentinian navy would struggle to find if they were surfaced, never mind submerged.

At the same time the Typhoons on the islands are far, far above anything the Argentinians can field and can be reinforced in 18 hours if required and there is a pretty large garrison on the islands, although with a very small window for them to be sober in the average week.

But everyone knows a drunk soldier can still fight, especially when they're on defense.
