Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

First entry - even though ordered last evening, still in 2014: a pair of Hobby Boss Bf 109 G-2s. The recent Whirlwind conversion gave me an idea for a German "Wirbelwind"...

Wouldn't it be easier to cut down a Me-110 ?  ;)

I braved the shops on this New Years Day, danced thru the crowds, fought over bargains galore..... Ah, who am I kidding? The place was near empty!

Went into TK Maxx in Lakeside and I saw a pair of kits that needed rescuing so I grabbed them both. Boxes are ripped badly but the contents are still sealed in plastic.
Airfix 1/72 RNLI Severn-class Lifeboats, £7 each

I'm unlikely to build them so if somebody wants to make me an offer....

Perhaps a Me410, instead?

Not wanting to argue......but wasn't the 210 stretched to the 410 to iron out the poor handling characteristics or something...? What about the Ta154......?

My Tamiya YZR500 with Kenny Roberts rider is in at the shipping depot. I likely won't be across the pond until the wife goes back to work on Monday, but it will be my first kit of 2015 !

Probably better off starting with an MPM 109H with the extended span, possibly the reboxed Face 109T as an E which gave you two wings?  Whirlwind wasn't much larger than a Spitfire. 110 is more of an enlarged 109 anyway, although one of the cheaper 110 kits would be ideal for the u/c nacelles.  Plastic card for the inner wings and the spare wings from a Hobbyboss 109G-10 for the outers.

As for the Me 210.  The real problem stemmed from Willy Messerschmitt's obsession with saving weight.  He ordered a chunk taken out of the fuselage which affected the aerodynamics and stability and there were various fixes to bring it back into line.  Some worked better than others and eventually the section of fuselage went back in and the aircraft got new engines and was rebadged as teh 410 to make people think it was a new aircraft.

Just received from the postman.

1 x 1/72 scale Olimp ASh-73TK engine set for the Tu-4 Bull

1 x 1/72 scale Olimp Cannon Weapon set for Tu-4 Bull

Both sets are going to be used to convert an Academy B-29 into a Tu-4 Bull which will probably be a real world build although I am tempted to put it in RAF colours to see if anyone notices that its not a Washington

;D Last few orders from 2014 just delivered, all from ebay: Matchbox Provost T.Mk.1, Trumpeter J-10 Chinese Fighter and Italeri SR-75 Penetrator with XR-7 Thunderdart - the last was described as new, but has actually been started as the XR-7 is pretty much completed, but I can work around that. This delivery did get me a yellow card from SWMBO, who has decided that my stash has now reached it's maximum size :o

Well actually got a model for Christmas for once! Some freinds gave me a 1/76th Airfix Cromwell starter set, and a very nice kit it is too.
