My stash just grew again (2015)

First entry - even though ordered last evening, still in 2014: a pair of Hobby Boss Bf 109 G-2s. The recent Whirlwind conversion gave me an idea for a German "Wirbelwind"... 

Wouldn't it be easier to cut down a Me-110 ? 

Perhaps a Me410, instead?

Probably better off starting with an MPM 109H with the extended span, possibly the reboxed Face 109T as an E which gave you two wings?  Whirlwind wasn't much larger than a Spitfire. 110 is more of an enlarged 109 anyway, although one of the cheaper 110 kits would be ideal for the u/c nacelles.  Plastic card for the inner wings and the spare wings from a Hobbyboss 109G-10 for the outers.

As for the Me 210.  The real problem stemmed from Willy Messerschmitt's obsession with saving weight.  He ordered a chunk taken out of the fuselage which affected the aerodynamics and stability and there were various fixes to bring it back into line.  Some worked better than others and eventually the section of fuselage went back in and the aircraft got new engines and was rebadged as teh 410 to make people think it was a new aircraft.

Good ideas, but too expensive for my taste. Some parts are missing or habe to be scratched - plan is to keep dimensions as compact as possible. Already have an alternative fuselage front end, biggest concern are the engine nacelles, but there are leftover pieces from the Whirlwind that could be recycled. Also needs a bigger tail - I consider a Me 262 fin!

1 x 1/72 Quickboost Ju 88G-6 FUG240 "Berlin" Short Nose conversion, probably to be used with an R-1 version.

What do Hasegawa mean by "special" bombs?

Smart Bombs, the 2nd generation smaller LGBs brought in after Kuwait 91.

Note by set IX the next generation are referred to as Joint Direct Attack Munitions.

I think they are probably referring to AGM-154 JSOWs(JointStandOffWeapons) on set VII as special, like you said, JDAMs are on set IX, although set VII also has some.

Nope, if you want Nukes then the Italeri US/NATO set had the US mk-61, The Trumpeter Vigilante has the 28 and 57 (I think !!), but for others try Belcher bits as they do a British set in 72 and a couple of US sets in 48th (could do with those becoming a 72nd set !)

Amazingly you get two different patterns in each set so now I've three spare sets of P-51 exhausts!

One of each set has the fairings, and the other type has just the plain bent pipes, both superbly moulded. I'm using the faired versions for the Tri-Stang, they're the nearest to the P-82B Merlin engine exhausts.

I'm trying vainly to get the Big H page for them but it seems Oulton Broad has left the building.

IIRC, the 1:72 Hobby Boss P-51B, C & D kits also offers two sets of exhaust stubs - with and without the fairings.
