From ScaleHobbyist:

3 x Hobby Boss 1/700 USS Gato 1944

From Shapeways

1 x GUPPY Northern Sail
1 x GUPPY Electric Boat Sail
1 x GUPPY Portsmouth Sail

From Ebay:

1 x Takara 1/700 USS Grayback Regulus Sub

I'm getting addicted to these little Gatos. The conversions are quick, insane looking, and they paint up easily to boot. I might be tempted into another 3-4 assuming I get good pricing on the hulls.

The plan for the 4 above is:
USS Clamagore as a GUPPY III
USS Argonaut as a Fleet Snorkel
USS Grayback as an SSG (Waterlined with a big saw)
USS Bluegill as an SSK

One of each set has the fairings, and the other type has just the plain bent pipes, both superbly moulded. I'm using the faired versions for the Tri-Stang, they're the nearest to the P-82B Merlin engine exhausts.

I'm trying vainly to get the Big H page for them but it seems Oulton Broad has left the building.  :banghead:

Looked on Hannants but couldn't see anything there that looks like the P-51H exhaust fairings/shrouds that were also on the P-82B
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yeah, I looked at those but they didn't quite look right Kit, the shrouds on the P-51H practically enclose the whole stubs and just the ends of the stubs stick out.

Went to my monthly model club meeting yesterday at a local hobby shop and found out some bad news: The hobby shop that we have the club meetings at is closing in March.  :o  :o  :o  Therefor, I decided to pick up the following before things got too picked over:
Testor 1/32 YF-22 ATF
Academy 1/800 USS Nimitz
Cyber-Hobby 1/700 USS Freedom LCS-1
Revell 1/48 F4U-4 Corsair
Kagero Publishing book on the USS Missouri with 5 large fold out blueprints.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

From a local ad, and collected last week, but didn't post them up because i have had a terrible week.
My poor wee dog, Elliott, a Doberman Labrador X, my best friend for the last 10 years, passed away in my arms at 5am on monday morning.
We have spent every day together since i rescued him when he was only 6 weeks old, and i'm gutted.

Anyway, the kits..

1/72 HobbyBoss Mi-8T €10
1/72 Eastern express AN-74 €10

Cheers.. Ray

NARSES2

Sorry to hear about the loss of the dog Major, I know what it's like.

Added a Airfix 1/72 Blenheim Mk IVf to the stash from Fenwicks in Newcastle this am. They had rather a lot of them in stock
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

My brother works at a propane place, so I asked him to get me a BBQ cover. Turns out he bought me this fancy one for $50. Instead of paying him, I told him that my LHS had a Nimrod kit for $50, if he wants that instead. So now I have the Nimrod in my hands. I think I'll give him the BBQ cover back !

Fot myself, I bought an Airfix Focke-Wulf Fw190A-8. For an idea I mocked that was kinda foisted upon me and I agreed to. Only wish I could recall where it was mentioned !
