Well back from Huddersfield, and yes it took 24 hours

Got my 1/72 Vallom Bombay - Africa campaign boxing. Looks very nice but the parts count seems to be mainly for the internals. Once that's done there are very few bits. I've seen a profile of a rreal world Bombay with D-Day stripes being used for casualty evacuation from Normandy so it may become that. On the other hand it may not ?

Airfix 1/72 Defiant. (one trader was trying to flog a very decrepit original tool off at the show. It looked like the original flat pack kit !) I know what I'm doing with this and it will be a wif.

Some flat brushes from Mr Models. I always try and buy something from them. It was also fun watching the younger Mr Models clambering all over the walls of the hall at set up time  ;D

And finally some IPA from Dork. Thank you mate.

Huddersfield; Mr Colour paints and thin cement,Mr Models provided a bag full of pip-pets (and yes the spiderman impression was most impressive lol) A vintage Arrii Ki-100 (48th) and a quite rare boxing of the Hasegawa Ki-61.

Thanks to #1 daughter, she who runs the model dept. of an Oxford  department store, I've got TWO Airfix Defiants, both starter kits as Airfix denied her the ordered basic ones. Not that I've actually seen them, they're still in Oxford, but they're earmarked for me when I get there next week.

Do any of the decals of the Defiant cover the 307 Sqdn Defiant as displayed at Hendon?

From Evil-Bay.
Revell 1/72 FW200 Condor "The Scourge of the Atlantic".  Original release (made in Great Britain - remember those days?) in a slightly foxed but intact box with an unopened ESCI decal set (39 - Germany FW 200 Condor so it's not an abandoned whiff).
It's moulded in a lovely duck egg blue with more rivets (the size of saucers) than you can shake a stick at.
Before it arrived my thoughts were turning to it ending up as a post war civilian transport or passenger carrier or as a source of whiffing raw materials.
However seeing as it already contains 5 engines, 5 nacelles and 5 props...

Zen, if you want to go for a post war civvy bird, you'd be better off tracking down the Fw 200B that Revell released in the early 90s.  Think it was rereleased fairly recently as a military transport.

Thanks Lee.
I know there are differences between the civilian versions and the later military versions (outer nacelle alignment, number of prop blades, bathtub and turret mainly) but this was cheap and I don't care about the details.

I don't often post in this thread although it often makes amusing and interesting reading, I must admit!  However, I have just found that I am the proud winner, thanks to EvilBay of a 1/72 Vacuformed Tu-126 Moss transport.   Now, to convert it to something useful or will I just use the thing for spare parts?

That'll be one BIG box then Brian! I did one in 1/100 scale from a VEB kit back in the 70s and that was big enough!

The standard boxing is 151 and 264 Sqds. Starter set is probably one option and odds on different then the standard box

Gift set is 255 Sqn, in Battle of Britain day fighter scheme.  The Hendon machine isn't on the decal sheets currently available on Hannants.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks gentlemen.

I've still got one of the original ones which is in the 307 Sqdn. scheme and I can scan them and re-draw and print the decals, they're pretty simple.
