Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Took lots of spending money to the airshow at Blenheim this weekend and wasn't disappointed. Came away with the Airfix Blenheim Mk.I - retail price paid but, looking in the very full box, worth each cent!

Also picked up a very, very rare mixed media kit from the PBY Catalina team who were selling someone's stash to help fundraise their overhaul/restoration: the Esoteric 1/72 Hughes 500D. I've seen in on eBay for upwards of US$100, but I got it for NZ$12! That's cheaper than retail on the Italeri injected kits!

It always winds me up slightly when I'm searching on Evilbay for one (the helicopter) and get loads of listings for the other....

Mind you, add the wings and tail-plane from one to the fuselage of the other and you'd get something that could be mistaken for a warped offspring of a Bristol Beverley!  :o
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

From the Heiden show:

- Revell 1:24 Bentley 4.5 litre blower
(to be fitted with a Merlin, of course)

I just found an Airfix 1:24 Mustang for a reasonable price on an auction site, so that's going to serve as an engine donor.
