There's a few Spitfire conversion kits on eBay.
Raided the local Pound Shop and got some 2 inch clamps, 3 inch clamps and snap-bladed knives, also a nail file set as there wasn't any wet and dry paper sold.
Might try Wilko next door.

The Wooksta!

Won on ebay:

Four kits plus a Falcon vacform canopy set.  RAF naturally.
Kits?
Ye olde Revell Tempest and F4U Corsair
Airfix old tool Spitfire mkIa
Airfix old tool Hurricane mkI

Oddly, it was the Hurricane and the canopies I was more interested in.

Go on Lee, cross-kit them.  Bent-winged Tempest and a straight-winged Corsair.  They're not fit for much else to be honest!

Latest arrivals:

New Airfix 1/72 F-51 for a Post-War RNZAF version
Reboxed Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Vb, the old kit is still quite nice and the new transfers are even nicer

Bandai 1/72 X-Wing - smaller than I thought (it's only about as big as a Spitfire) and has 2-3 layers of parts assembled over a central 'Keel'...
overcomplicated and more parts than are required, if you ask me... oh, well :-\

Care Package from a friend with:
Tasca Panzer II Luchs
Tamiya M3 Lee and replacement turret, wheels and track
Verlinden M5 interior and turret for my M3A3 Recce conversion
Formations Late Sherman Plain Wheels and Tamiya Duckbill track, for my M36B1 conversion
the Figures from Tamiya's Sherman Assault or Frontline Breakthrough - not sure which (great; I wasn't sure how I was going to get them, without buying an unneeded Sherman)

And all this when I'm trying to cut down on acquisitions... now where/when have I heard that before? ;D  :banghead:

Cheers

I'll try and sell them for a quid each at the Northern Show in a few weeks.  I've far better Tempests and I've done the only Corsair I actually want to do.

An Italeri F4U-7, primarily for the decals, but there's always a good use for a Corsair with spare parts. And the kit is pretty good, too.

Green Dragon

Airfix 1987 issue Banshee (Blue Print boxing) arrived via ebay today, decals are yellowed but can fix that with direct sunlight hopefully. If not may what if it.

TBH, you can have them for nowt plus the remains of another Revell Tempest I've floating about here somewhere.  Might throw in some extra Hawker bits that could come in handy.

From eBay, a set of eight 1:6 scale guns. Some will be used as the basis for weapons for mecha models, others will probably get sold on. Particularly interested in the MG42, M134 Minigun, and a thing called a DSR1, a German sniper rifle I'd not heard of but which looks pretty cool...
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Took my dad for a drive yesterday as it looked decent weather for a May Bank Holiday, tootled East, eventually deciding on going to Haworth as not too far or too crowded, plus my dad was more about the drive than the destination these days. So park at the top end of town for a loo break, decide its just too far and too steep for him to see the historic town street and jump back in the car to go down to the bottom and see if the model shop is open.

Nice old fashioned shop, although there was a worrying for lease sign on the buildings 2nd floor which make me wonder if another stalwart is due to retire  :banghead:.

Anyway picked up some OOP kits that I spotted on the shelves

Airfix 1/72nd Fairey Fulmar
Airfix 1/72nd Westland Scout
Italeri 1/72nd CH-146 Griffon

plus
Airfix 1/72nd TAV-8B/T10 Harrier II
(as it happens Gondor had PM'd me over the weekend to look out one of these kits on-line, and I just happen to find it in a shop ! )
