No glue in the opened Wessex and I haven't opened the other 2 yet (and they're not the boxes with the windows in the back so I can't rattle them around for a look).  I usually rip straight into my purchases but for some reason i've hesitated on these.
The seller did mention something about glue in the listing.
The instructions look like they just swapped english text for Chinese.  Which way do the Chinese read?  Right to Left like the Japanese?  Because the assembly steps go from left to right like they would "normally".
Boxes have some Chinese text on the top right corner of the front but other than that look no different to others i've seen except that the print quality is possibly slightly poorer and the card thinner.  The cellophane is folded and stuck rather than shrink wrapped.
Decals (the Wessex ones anyway) look fine and are identical to the non Chinese versions of the lit shown in interweb reviews.
The seller has another Wessex here which someone wants badly.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

QuoteDrill Ship looks good Seadude.

I bought it cause I wanted to use certain parts to build a offshore defense platform as described in
Post #'s 16 and 18 here:

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

An ARTModel F8F-2 in 1:72, directly from the Ukraine.
Very nice kit with lots of resin parts, and not too expensive.

Sounds like a couple of the re-pops I've had. Now't wrong with them at all

Traditionally Chinese read down the columns and right to left across the page. However sometime in the 50's the Government mandated left to right so to be honest I don't know  I know a friends wife who is from Hong Kong complains that the menu's in local Chinese restaurants should get their acts together and at least do it the same way. She explains this should be easy as only two families own the lot  ;D

Eduard 1/72 Weekend edition of the Avia B.534 plus an etch set for the rigging. Looks stunning in the box and a good price. She will be real world.

Also got a Yahu Models "etch" instrument panel for the Airfix Hurricane. Been looking at these and I thought at £2.20 why not ? Anyway apart from thinking I'd ordered a 1/24th one to start with (the front has a large scale picture of the finished panel  :banghead:) it looks good. Basically you get a colour etch instrument panel and separate compass where they have done all the work and stuck the parts together for you rather then do it your self which is the norm. So should just be a straight forward replacement for the plastic part and transfer.

Won on eBAY,
1/72 Mig-23PD this is the one with two lift jets , Mig-21 style wings and shock cone air intakes. Looks more Mirage than a Mig.

That sounds good. Who makes it please?

I'm tracking a delivery of some Evil-Bay purchases via the Aus Post website.  Strange thing is they seem to be getting further away from me...
ArtModel is the manufacturer.

I've got a couple of those: it looks like a nice kit. At least one of them might become a Fairey Delta <something> with a bigger, tailless wing and the lift jets deleted, the idea being that it's a straight fighter development of the FD.2.

A Scott Furlong Predator perhaps ?

Today I received from Evil-Bay 3 1/72 Matchbox aircraft - A Wessex, a Mystere IV and an A10.  The Mystere and the Warthog still have the cellophane on them.  All have Chinese language instructions.  Got them for the opening bid of $20.
The Wessex i'm thinking of giving to the Sky Pirates with a hatch on both sides an a pair of gunners plus rocket pods.  No idea about the other 2.

Sounds like they were made in Macau, the Portuguese equivalent of Hong Kong. I got a bunch of Matchbox Hawk 200s from there via Ebay and they came with tiny glue tubes included. I believe these moulds were left behind after Matchbox folded and it took years for Revell to reclaim them but during this time the Macau factory churned out thousands of various kits.

A who what?

Just realised I've only got one of the MiG-23PDs. It's Artmodel's Ye-8 that I've got two of.

Ooooh, the Predator! I'd forgotten all about that, fond memories.

Interesting how its landing gear is almost exactly the same as the P.1127 which was being designed around the same time. Methinks ATV had a direct phone line to the Hawker design office!  ;D

Has anyone here done a model of a predator? A mix of FD2, Mirage F1 and Harrier sounds about right.......... ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Celebrated the end of another week by dropping into the local toy shop.  It is expensive but it carries a better range of Airfix than the LHS which never seems to get the new stuff (this is down to the distributor - the toy shop is a franchise and so they get first pick).
I left with a 1/72 Typhoon 1B.

Excellent choice  You will need another so you can have one ready to go and the other with gun panels open  ;D
