Thanks for posting the pics of the Predator, Geoff, I'd never heard of the series.  A very convincing prop, a quick search shows that it had a motorbike engine fitted so it could even taxi.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

1/72 Revell 04628-0389 Lockheed P2V-7 (SP-2H) Neptune, arrived in perfect condition, didn't know that the kit includes a gun turret and alternative stopper for the hole. Decals are for VP-21 Black Jacks U.S.Navy 1968 and the Royal Netherlands Navy 320 Squardon Valkenburg.
Which is the same for the Frog kit except they have Australian decals.

I will build the kit with the Hawkeye Rotodome attached to the upper fuselage, solid nose. Vertical tail chopped but reworked. Turboprop engines used from the Heller Grumman Hawkeye E-2C, similar technique to the previous Neptune 'Vietnam'. Bulge where weapons bay and radar dome would be. Twin wheels on main landing gear.

Celebrated the end of another week by dropping into the local toy shop.  It is expensive but it carries a better range of Airfix than the LHS which never seems to get the new stuff (this is down to the distributor - the toy shop is a franchise and so they get first pick).
I left with a 1/72 Typhoon 1B.

Excellent choice  You will need another so you can have one ready to go and the other with gun panels open  ;D

I didn't notice that little detail until I was studying the box while sitting in the car (yes, I did open it and look at the sprues - don't we all?).  My first thought was that they had put pictures of the 1/24 kit on the box by mistake.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Sounds like they were made in Macau, the Portuguese equivalent of Hong Kong. I got a bunch of Matchbox Hawk 200s from there via Ebay and they came with tiny glue tubes included. I believe these moulds were left behind after Matchbox folded and it took years for Revell to reclaim them but during this time the Macau factory churned out thousands of various kits.

Nick.......do you have a link or can you point me in the right direction for a few of these kits please......?  The Hawk 200 that is......

I've got a couple of those: it looks like a nice kit. At least one of them might become a Fairey Delta <something> with a bigger, tailless wing and the lift jets deleted, the idea being that it's a straight fighter development of the FD.2.

A Scott Furlong Predator perhaps ?

A who what?

Just realised I've only got one of the MiG-23PDs. It's Artmodel's Ye-8 that I've got two of.

Wow - thanks for that! I've never even heard of the series. Looks like it's available on DVD (rather expensive, unfortunately): http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Plane-Makers-Volume-DVD/dp/B003TEHBXS?tag=duckduckgo-ffnt-uk-21

;D Wymark being as subtle as a bulldozer as usual.

I've had a boss or two like that............  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Looks sort of like a Mirage Balzac doesn't it  --- so what came first, this or the Balzac ?  I've read the original Mirage was inspired by the Fariey Delta II after it was using the French Supersonic range near the Dassault factory

When you mentioned the FD2 and VTOL i just knew you would love this one.

Certainly makes for an interesting Whiff model as would have period photos to prove its genuine yet still a whiff

It would certainly make an interesting subject to model Geoff, but my aversion to all these projects that have multiply engines just for VTOL and then haul around the dead weight for 99% of the time, generally get assigned to my ""delete this idea"" pile

Last year when Sandy (AKA Tojo633) came down to park at my house for the Scottish Airshow he provided me with a NOVO FD2. My plan for it then, and still is, a Scott Furlong Predator in operational markings.
Just do not ask when.

I never knew about that aircraft nor the story behind it, I do have an FD2 in the stash and might just have a go at building one of them, probably on a simmilar time scale to yourself Jim

I think you'll need to fatten it up quite a bit Jim, the Predator is anything but the slim, lissom thing that's the FD2.

I wasn't expecting to win these two Italeri 1/72 kits on eBay;
MH-53E Sea Dragon
AugustaWestland AW101 Marine One.

The VH-53F springs to mind and the EH101 does look good in Marine decals.
