Are all yours the early boxing with the tailplanes missing on the artwork and one of the Red Top fins short-shot? Mine are...
All mine are the same.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

That'd be why they're in the sale then....

It'd be tempting to build one up without it's tailplanes and put it on the stand at Telford with the box lid underneath it, wouldn't it?

Apparently so: now I belatedly understand why Freightdog Colin was selling resin Red Tops...

Still, not hard to repair with a bit of plasticard and some careful cutting and sanding.

Sorry about the Corsair being sans a tailplane - she came that way.  I added a spare engine from a Hobbyboss kit and some spares lying about.  The second tempest I thought was a nice surprise.

Yes I recognised the Hobbyboss part - the resin items look like Bristol Hercules for a Superfreighter or similar?  If so they could come in handy for some post-WW2 CASAfication of something German.

Tailplane can be rectified, not  problem.

They are made in China for Hobbycraft (Canadian).  Are they their own moulds?  I've not built the first one yet but just going on looks i'd say better than average short run quality.  So better than Valom or poor MPM but not as good as good MPM or AZ.  On line reviews reckon the undercarriage in no way represents reality in design or location in the bays (but there are some nice looking builds on the interweb).  I have noticed that there is no separate jet pipe piece and blanking will be required to avoid having a see through model.  Decals are pretty meh but who uses the kit ones anyway.
However, accuracy is not my concern, the prices were right, it's not like there is a lot of choice and I "need" 'different' Soviet jets for the PDRV Republican Guard  ;D

I currently have my eye on a Hobbycraft SU-25 on evil-bay...

The Hobbycraft Su-25 rivals with the Kangnam kit to be the worst Su-25 representation. In itself, the kit is not bad, but simpy wrong. But it has its selling points, because it is the only Su-25 kit I know where the fuselage and the engines are separate parts. So it lends itself for a thorough conversion... I plan to modify one into an A-10 layout, with engines in nacelles on the rear flanks, lowered wings and maybe a T-tail. With the Hobbycraft kit this is easily possible. ;)
