Went out to the LHS and picked up a bunch of Tamiya paints, a Tamiya painting stand and ended up bagging a 1/72 Airfix Gnat and a Dauntless... After i paid for these, i happen to look up at the shelves above the 1/72 section, there i see a beautiful wooden kit of a Mediterranean fishing barge, a Catalan CadaquĆ©s, http://www.artesanialatina.net/EN/model-ship-kits/initiation/19009--cadaques.html complete with fabric sail, ropes, metal parts, the works! I brought that for my old man. He's also getting back into it again, he used to make ships with matches and balsa wood back when he was single. He looked like a little kid when he saw it...

And then, when i got home, these 4 boxes had arrived from Japan...

Two white boxes containing the F-16DSI Conversion sets, and the other two...
I want to thank LoneStar Resin Parts for making such good and unique work! Yukio Kanezawa is a very dedicated and skilled modeler. Because of international bank bureaucracies, we had to make this deal in a way that for most would be a tremendous risk, and i can assure you, he is a man of his word. I'm very thankful to Yukio for his work, i think it is a very good contribution to the modeling world and even more for the Whif World!!
And also, i can't forget it was leptiprince who shared the info and link to LoneStar's site. Thank you!

Those look interesting DfZen.

I took delivery today of a parcel from BNA Model World taking advantage of their Special Hobby Sale plus getting something i've had my eye on for a while as a treat to myself for submitting my last piece of coursework for my TAFE course.

All 1/72 I got;
Special Hobby Seafire 47
Special Hobby Vatour (gun nose, israeli decals)
Eduard Mig 15 bis (Profi Pack - lots of decals, PE, masks).

Fred

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ok, this is the mail order page for Lonestar Resin Parts: http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~lonestar/SALES.htm Unless you read Japanese, you'll have to use a translator.
There you find all of Yukio Kanezawa's stuff. He doesn't have paypal or credit card at the moment so all orders must be paid through international bank transfer, which has some extra costs. I told Yukio that if he had a Paypal account, as a lot of stores from Japan have, it would be very beneficial for his company, Yukio has already looked into it and very soon, he should have a paypal account set up to make things easier for him and all of us.
Still i believe that he will keep using the same method for order, you simply write him an e-mail with the stuff you want and he'll get back to you with the total values and shipping costs.

I think that's about it, check out the page, he's got a lot of good stuff.

No problem, these are good products
made by a modeler for modelers so it has my full support, Yukio is making a really good job, and on top of that, he's a really cool guy!
My next buy will be the Mig-29 conversion set, i have an ICM mig that will be base for that... And probably a few more DSI intakes.

From the IPMS meeting last night;

an Academy 1/72 Bronco - for an idea on the discussion thread here - another to come, for another idea... well, you get the idea (groan)

a set of RNZAF WW2 Pacific roundels for the A-4 commemorative scheme model
(now I only have to get the things to conform over all those little spikes on the wings...)

Some Vallejo Acrylic paints - lovely to work with; brush smoothly, level out well and dry quickly. The second coat was more to touch up various thin spots, rather than a required overall coverage.
I will be investigating more of these in future...

Cheers

From my LHS :

Vallejo Rust, Stain and Streaking set.

Trump 35th scale USN LCM crew

Won on ebay:

AKI Blackburn Firebrand.  Finally got one!

That's a good price, And I like the margin by which you won it with.  ;D

I take it you were bidding on it too?  Sorry about that - the last one that popped up was won by another member of this parish, Bungle - and he outbid me, so hopefully you'll get the next one!

Not sure how much the current CMR Firebrand is but it's not far off what I paid for the AKI one.

I did not bid on it (I didn't know it there won one on auction) but I am please that you got it for a great price and you that you won one it by such a small margin. If I do get one, it will most likely be one of the two CMR kits. I just have not got a good solid idea yet on how to WHIF it.

Awwwwww man I want to see THAT!

For me the Tamiya 1/35 Velociraptors arrived, enough bits supplied for six differently-posed dinos. Now all I need is the motorcycle.

Zac - PM me and I'll e-mail you a couple shots when I finish it. (don't have a Bucket-type account - and don't want one)

Have you seen the old tank model where the guy used 'Raptor heads on 1/35 bodies? Quite different!
