If you say so  The F-35 box looks awesome.

And the contents are even better!! About the decals, yes, they're for F-16s but, what if, by work of some strange, dark forces, they ended up on an F-35C?

A 1:72 Heller F-84G, for the upcoming Cold War GB (already have an idea), plus some stuff for the current BoB GB, including an MPM He 100 and a vintage KP Avia B.35.

In the last few weeks, I've been buying all in 1/72 or 1/144 scale. I'll let you guys take a guess what these are all for.  ;D  ;D  ;D
MiG-15
MiG-17
MiG-21
MiG-23
MiG-25
MiG-29
Su-22
Su-27

And I've bought from Fantastic Plastic the following:
SR-72 Hypersonic aircraft
Boeing "Bird of Prey"
Lockheed UCARS rotorcraft
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Direct from Airfix

1 x 1/72 scale Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk. V bomber. To be real world but probably not an option in the box.

It's a nice kit Todd, although I'm going to sand all the raised panel lines off (or to a barely visible level)
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Erm not really I think the Academy or Hasegawa are probably better, but as I've said elsewhere none of them are correct as no kit producer will be allowed access to do an accurate kit, so all are based on photographic interpretation and the best guess of the kit designers.  :banghead:

Today arrived, from the other side of this planet, two Jays Model Kits conversion sets: one for a Tempest Mk.I (on the basis of the Heller kit) and the other for an Australian Sabre with the wider fuselage for the Orenda engine and with Aden cannon (for a Fujimi Sabre). Cool stuff, looks better than expected.

I'm currently playing with that Tempest Mk I conversion kit Dizzy (although mine is in the Ventura packaging) and as I didn't have the Heller Mk V but loads of Academy ones I've used it on that. Fits fine with some fettling which to you will be nothing at all. Makes a fine looking airplane. Mine will be in service circa early 43 and will be going to a Hurricane squadron.

Arrived this morning from the Big H ; New Tool Airfix "Kate" and Eduard mask and etch zoom for the He III

Kate looks really nice, A fair few options re flaps, folded wings and canopy position. You get 3 canopy options. Fully closed, the rear open so the gun can be deployed and all movable parts open. Very neat moulding on the rear open option as it's moulded in one piece so no fiddling about trying to get 2 parts to sit properly.

Mine will be real world. A level bomber prior to Pearl Harbour and before the top was camouflaged. I've been reading up on Kate camouflage and something in one book rang a bell. There's a part of one in the US Army museum in Waikiki which is definitely the same colour top and bottom (probably Ame-iro), but what twigged my memory is that the part has been part sanded back to expose the paint layers and the primer is bright red  ;D I will have a photo some where among the thousands so unlikely to find it until the need is over  Mine will be based on this one however. and will have one wing folded. If I get another I'll probably do her Manchuko.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Got a pile of those Ventura/JAYS Models Tempest Mk.I conversions (JAYS owns all the Ventura stuff BTW) but went with the High Planes ""Avon"" Sabre conversion (not Orenda Dizzy)
