Hm, I'm envisaging just what a Beverley Zwilling would look like...............  ;D

Don't, I certainly am not.

I would personally quite favour that inclination  ;D

Runway ? ...

Twice the length and eight donks.
just a thought...

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

2 parcels today.

From Jays in NZ - two 1/72 Heller DH Vampires.  Bagged with no decals.  Sold like that as "Vampire Lite" until they get thru own decal sheets designed.  One will be Soviet, the other may get a piston engine.

From BNA Model World - Assorted resin & Photo etch detail stuff for 1/35 armour and a 1/72 Italeri Macchi C.202.  This will be a paint whiff for the BoB GB.  I can report that like the Italeri C 205 the Port wing of the 202 is 1.5mm longer than the Starboard.

I am NOT going to build this, but my thoughts tend towards this:
Longer, yes.
A larger wing, yes.
Six engines, either six RR Tynes or Four Tynes and two auxiliary Vipers in pods.
This would have to be RAF, Brown Bomber.

Staying with the standard airframe.
Four RR Tynes but how about five blade props like the Sea Fury had.
Who would operate it, my thoughts tend towards RAAF in SEA camouflage.

I say again, I am NOT going to build any of these ideas.

Better off with a Heller Mistral - the russians wanted the Nene engined Vampires - and the longer wingtips of the Vampire 1/3.

Finally got my sticky mitts on a Scalextric 1/32 Ford Falcon XB.

It will be modified into a static Pursuit Special, in basic black of course.

As a bonus, I didn't realise they come with an interior and full driver figure. Easy to mod into Mr Rockatansky in his leathers...

One very happy modeller!  ;D

Cheers

According to Scalemates it's the same kit but I don't really care what the Russians wanted, they'll get why they're given.

There's lucky, they're heavily sought after in slotracing circles. Does it have a sidewinder or front engine chassis?

Stopped at a hobby shop in London after the hospital, and it was gone ! As I circled the building I saw a small notice that it had moved.....so I went to that address, and it was closed ! Doesn't open until 11 Mon-Thur and didn't open until 12:30 today ! Just my luck  :banghead:

So I stopped at the bookstore and grabbed some mags....SAM ( August) Flypast (September ) and Combat Aircraft ( 16, 9 ) Oh well if you can't fondle new plastic at least you can read !

Then Scalemates is wrong, because the Heller Mistral has a sprue with a completely different fuselage pod from the Vampire (incorporating a Nene engine), bang seat, new flaps, wheels and intakes.

I have both the Heller Vampire and Mistral and they are very definitely different.

WHAT!  A MISTAKE ON THE INTERWEB!  STOP THE PRESSES!  :o :o :o

Thanks Lee for the information. I'm more about the look though in this case - NMF Vampire with red stars attracts me.
Is Scalemates peer-updated like Wikipedia or is there a moderator?  Will anyone care if we tell them?
