Had to check this up, Scalemates is correct.  It say's the Mistral is a rebox with updated and new parts.  The timeline say's it was released 1980 with new parts.

Radial ? Inline ? I drew one ( might be over in my cartoons thread ) with a merlin years ago, but when I sized them up it was way too big. I think it would have to be a mixed scale to actually do it.

Get em whilst you can as Disney are enforcing ther Licencing for Star Wars ahead of the Force Awakens and the Bandai kits are for the Japanese and Far East only so oversea sales direct are being banded. Leaving us poor Europeans to the odd scale crap Revell are turning out as toys whilst US Revell will at least get some of the old Finemoulds kits re-boxed !!!!

It's not immediately clear on the timeline but it does indeed say new parts.  I thought (mistakenly) that they would have had a new timeline if it was given a different kit number AND name.

Radial probably but i've not really put much thought to it.  Maybe a turboprop with the exhaust through the propeller hub?

Finally got my sticky mitts on a Scalextric 1/32 Ford Falcon XB.

There's lucky, they're heavily sought after in slotracing circles. Does it have a sidewinder or front engine chassis?

No idea, but this is the one I got:

I've only cracked the case open, haven't even removed it from the base yet - a 'down the line' project.
I don't know about slot cars, I was only after it as the basis for the Max Coupe.

Apologies if it appeared if I was poking you.  I've been caught out myself in the past, the timeline isn't always obvious.  The Airfix Lanc is a confusing one as they include all boxings of every kit that's ever been released which includes three completely different toolings along with updated parts.
