The Frog Victor should net you your money back, with the Airfix SR53 getting you a few bob into the bargain.

Rather disappointingly the Victor is missing the stand base, the instructions and any decals. Also it is in white plastic but on the web it always has it as grey plastic so not sure if it's the 1958 or '64 version. The SR53 is pristine.

I think the early ones were in silver plastic and the late ones in white. I sold a white one, albeit in a French issue Triang boxing for over £70 to a 'collector' in 1975 or so.

Oooooh baby:

Aside from the mildly yellowed decals, the only issue with this 1988 kit is that the last owner swapped an FGR.2 sprue with the FG.1 one so it has slotted tailplanes, otherwise everything's there. I must admit I was amazed at the size of the box...and the fuselage halves! Definitely a take-my-time project. NZ$50 plus post, with the white metal wheels and vinyl tyres still sealed in their bag.

Mrs z had to have a filling and when picking her up I asked the dentist if he had any spare tools he had finished with.
Result was a curved pick which will be great for cleaning out panel lines, scribing and that sort of thing.

Lucky you!  I'm still waiting for my LHS to get them in and god knows when the post office will deliver the other one.

HMW had already sold over a dozen since they got them in on Tuesday and after mine they still had at least 4 more on the shelf.

Hannants got 3000 in and are down to less than 1000.

It isn't a limited edition kit so more will be on the way.

Well its already sold out at Hannants, I got the impression that the bulk of the production is actually due at the end of the month so should be plenty around at Telford.

Even if I got one today, don't think I could have it ready for Telford...

I saw something somewhere today saying Airfix got its second shipment in, I'm sorry to say I can't back it up with a link.

I had an email from Airfix today that said that, along with stocks of the Beaufighter, Whitley and Wildcat.

It says the first batch of Shackletons were sold out on pre-order. What did they expect????  :o

Beware that the Pegasus Swift is not an easy one to assemble.  I had one that I gave up on after wrestling it together.  It got passed on, but the belly tank ended up on the Magna Swift that's being decalled later today.

Hmm.  Today's haul?
1 Airfix Shackleton from Uncle Frank, along with some Xtradecal markings and a bottle of Night paint.
1 Airfix Shacklton from elsewhere.  I now have three.

Awaiting a Pegasus Spiteful, Heller Spitfire XVI and a Matchbox Hurricane from Ebay.

A care package from Bungle containing a pair of Xtrakit Spitfire mk XIIs and an unexpected but nonetheless welcome for spares Revell Spitfire Vb.
