I know I was seen in possession of a 1:72 DH Rapide and Chinook, both are gifts for my father in law, and both may or may not end up on his 009 layout

A parcel from Hobby Link Japan.  Perfectly timed so Mrs z was on leave and thus forced to leave bed to answer the door.
I'm now as scared as BG.

So you should be. I'd emigrate ; Oh you already did

I can't go any further without starting to come back.

Without checking I think New Zealand is the UK's antipodes and thus a bit farther  ;D And no I'm not saying anything else

Pretty close. Spain actually lines up with New Zealand. A straight 'tunnel' from the UK ends up in the ocean to the south of NZ: http://www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com/antipode-map/#.Vj5zUV7LIdU

There's an island in the Southern Ocean that's actually called Antipodes Island, but even that only corresponds to a point just off the north coast of France.

In St Louis, Missouri, USA for work last week and went by CRM Hobbies, 501 Eichelburger Street.  Huge shout out, great place!.  Stacked with old and new kits, old school hobby shop feel lots of aircraft, armor, ships, cars, and great book selection.  Great selection at great prices.  They do mail order.  crmhobbies.com.

A must if you are in the area.  Best prices I have seen on big kits- If you need a 1/72 scale 707, B-1, C-130 etc they have lots.

Great bargain table, I had to be carefull as I only had a carry on suitcase for the flight home- decisions, decisions..... :o

From the top, clockwise:
Britavia 1/72 Dragonfly, thick, clear vacuform $5
Bagged Airfix DC-9's (2 of them) 1/144,  someone puttied in the windows...maybe someone was going for a WHIF bomber/tanker/cargo?  $5
Bagged Airfix Vigilante, 1/72 says missing a part but have not figured out what yet- nothing major it seems.  $4
Bagged Airfix One Eleven, no decals. $3
Bagged Hobbycraft S2F, 1/72 started, $3
Airfix Fokker DR1, 1/72 pilot (BVR) missing, decals yellowed.  $5
Center, Matchbox P-51D, 1/72 $3

so $28 for 9 classic kits

Also picked up a new EC-121 (not pictured)

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Forget the Italeri and get either the Academy and the decals or the Hasegawa if doing a clean aircraft as they are all different sizes and shapes !

Thanks for the heads up, but I've already got one of the Italeri kits.  It's going to be RCAF and the way our new Prime Minister is going, it could very well be a 'What-If' !  His campaign promise was to dump the F-35 as soon as he got into power
