My Telford haul was                                                                                             nothing.  ;D

Not one single kit, pot of paint, accessory or conversion was purchased, but I did shell out on Overscan's remarkable P.1121 book, so that may trigger me into building my Maintrack vacform at last.

I needed more kits like a hole in the head in reality so I count that a successful show.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

If you wake up in the morning and it doesn't seem to be getting light, try moving out of the shadow of all the stuff you got.. ;)

two big ones, but reasonably cheap :

a 1/72 DoX (incomplete though : needs wings whiffing)
and
a 1/72 Flower Class corvette, which I can turn into a seaplane tender with 2 or 3 catapults (I'll try to keep something tlike a captain's deck ...)

...the way our new Prime Minister is going, it could very well be a 'What-If' !  His campaign promise was to dump the F-35 as soon as he got into power

If he legalises Cannabis first then no-one will notice, or care what he does about the F-35 as long as there enough doughnuts...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

He ought to make sure there's a Tim Hortons on every corner before he does.

Bungle

Unfortunately I didn't go to Telford* so I had to make do with the normal mode of stash accumulation i.e. evilbay. There's not even a model shop close to me so my choices are limited nowadays. Still I'm off to a week in St Ives (Cornwall) next week so who knows maybe there will be some little surprise down there other than the odd pastie or two.

Last weeks and today's deliveries include....

Huma Messerschmitt me 309 for part of the 109 109 project
Huma Messerschmitt me 209 (v1/v4) not as it may seem this is nothing to do with the 109 family but I didn't want the 309 to get lonely in the post (!)
Valom Vickers Wellesley Mk.1 I remember the Matchbox kit for some reason I never completed it (probably due to brown and black plastic) Could this be better ?
Valom Bristol Brigand B.1 again as a travelling partner for the Wellesley - a likely What-if
Eduard Messerschmitt bf 110 c/d bought for the BoB GB I have a spare resin front end to a 109 I may try grafting it onto the 110 to make it a tri-motor.
Hasegawa Messerschmit bf 109 G-14 Finnish Post war for the 109 109 project - cheap and likely to be made OOB.

Oh you should really try SMW one year we are there in force and Whif's are now quite popular across the branches as well now so JMN's tend to keep their opinions to themselves these days. Its a good social gathering and there is loads to get around and see (and Buy !  :banghead: )

I didn't hear a single JMN comment all weekend and I didn't get told about any secondhand either. I'd say around 50% of the branch/SIG tables had at least one Whiff on them and one of them (Farnborough) was ALL what if. The climate's changed, even in the last 6+ years since I've been back into modelling.

Last time I heard one was that time a couple of years ago at Cosford when we were under the 188 as somebody noticed the Kit's PR-19 and commented "What a way to ruin a good kit" had us lot in stiches as its one of the most iconic Whif builds and had been taken for real by some. Kit's face was a picture when we told him  ;D.

We have a slightly different take on Project Cancelled as many now recognise the types form the various books by Tony Chris etc. and take great pleasure in telling their companions about the types (and they quite often get the details right too  ;D). So we end up quite often either explaining what the project was, or how we built it and then directing them off to look up the various books or SecretProjects forum for more reference material
