I succumbed.  A Mach 2 Caravelle in 1/72 scale arrived from Italy today.  My excuse?  It was cheap(ish).  Now, what do I do with it?   :banghead:

A friend of mine has one too. Will receive bigger turbofan engines and a surveillance radar, inspired by the Swedish recce Caravelles but updated.

Unusual subjects and scale for me but the model "shop" in the old Alders of has a lot of stuff at half price and they would be way to big in other scales, so

1/200 scale Tu 95MS and YB-49. I have plans for both

You couldn't do me a favour and measure the diameter of the TU 95 props could you please Chris?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Waiting at home after work was an envelope with the decals from two High Planes 1/72 kits: RAAF Canberra B.20 and the CAC Winjeel. The Canberra ones will be used for an old Frog one, and the Winjeel ones will go onto a model you'll get to see this weekend.

Thanks.  I was hoping a set could be scaleorama'd onto a 1/72 project I have in mind but that's a bit small.
It does however mean that a 1/144 set would be about 40mm diameter which is more like it.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Today I set off to a rather less local hobby shop than usual on a mission to buy a 1/72 Flanker.
I left (avoiding the employee smoking a joint with a customer just outside the door) with a Revell Lockheed Viking and an ICM BM-21 "Grad" MLRS.

I had an idea of kitbashing it with the Airfix HS/BAe Nimrod. Using the Nimrod wings & engines and replacing the Nimrod wings with the Cavarelle. A new set of turbofans.
A Caravelle AEW would look great!

1/72 Rare Planes vacform Lockheed Constellation Super G with EC-121 parts ( upper search radar missing).
It was cheap on eBay.

I have an idea to creat the Starlight with shoulder mounted wings. The undercarriage legs from the Stirling or Flying Boxcar.
Which means a very long weapons bay could be fitted with upper gun turrets. DB resin engines or turboprops.
Or flying boat option.

Gondor

Received from ebay this morning

1 x Airfix 1/600 H.M.S. Leander which has been started. The hull has had it's two halves glued together and the base of the turret has been fitted in place. Going to be as per the box

Also received this morning from The Airbrush Company Ltd

1 x Lifecolour UA 633 Light Admiralty Grey to be used on British built Aircraft undercarriage and undercarriage bays
1 x Lifecolour UA 631 Dark Admiralty Grey to be used in British built Aircraft cockpits

At today's London show I picked up the Special Hobby 1/72 single seat Gnat. Looks rather good and Chris is pushing me to a RAuxAF version... :-\

In the goodie bag we got on entry is a set of 1/72 markings for the French Aeronavale, their E-2 Hawkeye and the Super Etendard 100th Anniversary scheme.
Apparently these are Collectors Limited Edition only 200 made. They must have sat forgotten in the SAM office for a while then!
