Not shithouse, just not what I was after.  I have yet to figure out how to stop most of the paint coming off.  Noticeably the paints that came off in big slabs were the two Model Colour paints that I thinned with water before brushing on while the ones that were more stubborn were Model Air paints which I brushed on straight out of the bottle.
Anyway, its growing on me.  I'm going to hand paint the remnants of some markings and then give it a really dirty wash.

You want boring model cars? Look at Japanese kits.  They produce some really bland models.  US stuff is all big block, supercharged, GTO, Boss 429 while the japanese companies kit things like Toyota Corollas and Nissan Cedrics.
Japanese kits are also mostly kerbside meaning for the first one for a while you won't have to worry about building an engine.
Have a look here to get an idea (Hobby Link Japan - other websites are available).
Do not buy anything made by Doyusha under the Nostalgia Heroes brand.  They look good and are interesting subjects but while the bodies are well moulded with great detail they adjust the scale to fit them to a standard wheelbase chassis and they have very very shallow interiors as they are designed to sit on top of a battery tray.
If you simply must have a boring US car then both AMT & Revell/Monogram produced Chevy Citations and AMT did a Ford Probe.
AMT also did mid nineties Chevy Blazers and Ford Explorers which are pretty nice kits with very good detail (and are bland cars).

So, doughnut box.  This will sit on the back seat of the Chevy Caprice.  It's folded up from printer paper using a plan I knocked up a year or so ago.

And here's the Yak.  I noticed while taking this that A Model have managed to produce the horizontal tails to be two different sizes.

Perhaps they're an offshoot of Mach 2?

It's not much, but enough that I noticed.
Another thing to add to the list for when I build the second kit in the stash (a 28PP).

A Model issues also vary with when the kit was created, many of the newer are not too bad,
however they all require some work.

Absolutely Jon. Some of the early ones are the only examples of what they represent, as far as I'm aware anyway, so are worth the effort.

Thanks for the tips! A Ford PROBE, now that's one I never thought I'd see for sure!! I have to get it!!! Back in HS one of my buddies had one and he called his "The Anal Probe."

Doughnut box is choice and can't go wrong with Krispy Kremes.

There are two versions of the Probe.  A "normal" one and an IMSA version with a body kit.
I've built the IMSA one with some modifications.

Today Mrs z was working from home so I couldn't spend as much time as usual in my shed making models.
But I did install the doughnut box into the interior of the Caprice along with a box of soft drinks (actually 1/35 but they work as 1/25 375ml bottles).  The car is intended as a Cannonball Run contender hence the supplies of sugar eaten comestibles.

I also found this quiz.  I got 36 out of 49 which I think is pretty good considering there are a lot of commercial aircraft and modern fast jets there which are not really my bag (baby).
Mind you, when the plane in the photo has its name written on the tail or 3 out of 4 choices are patently ridiculous it makes it easy.  So I expect a lot of you guys will get them all.  There is also at least one mistake.

Got 41 out of 41 so far, but it stalled out and won't let me go any further.  :banghead:

And yes, he got one of them wrong, didn't he?

Super job on the Caprice, I love those seat belts.

[Later] Their maths don't work either, after a re-boot I managed 48 out of 49 but they only reckoned I had 46, hmmm..... :banghead:

Hey, the IMSA Probe is neat!!!  Dare I say looks better than the stock version, to be sure.. .

I actually drove a couple of Probes.. the afformention Anal one and another one that was uhh... kinda beat up. Different color panels and stuff.. lol    Was kind of fun to drive. Not a Mustang but not an Escort either.

I will vanquish the quiz.

EDIT:    35 out of 49   :o ;D ;D ;D ;D    One I messed up on because the picture of the Dreamliner sure as hell didn't look like a big double decker to me... but whatevs.  Admittedly I got some right through elimination. One of my weak spots are smaller regional airliner planes so I didn't do too well.

The Dreamliner's only got one deck, you're thinking about the A-380 I expect.

Well then, no wonder I got it wrong.... I SHOULD have!  ;D   I don't know why I always think the Dreamliner is the A-380...   I suspect I won't make that mistake any more, though.

Every pic I've ever seen of a 787 Dreamliner flying shows it with the wings bent so far up they look like they're about to snap off! I suspect the A350 does the same but the 787 always looks worse.

47 out of 49 - as has been said - some pictures have labels  ;D

One's I failed on - the Boeing 717 - the renumbering of the DC-9 'development' ALWAYS throws me

The other wrong one was that I can't tell Embraer regional jets from Bombardier ones ....but then I've never tried to!  <_<
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

I'm not a car person but I can recognise great work. Interior of that Caprice is wonderful
