Elsewhere Brad C mentions graffiti paint jobs.

I did this as a paint experiment and to use up the dregs of a heap of rattle cans.

Killer!!   I do likey!!   I'm having mad serious '90s flashbacks and can hear Ace of Base playing in the background.  ;D

lovely !

punk not dead ?  ;D

zenrat

Punk never died.  It just got found out.
The kit is a Toyota Soarer.  I forget who made it.  It has a functioning sliding sunroof but is a kerbside.

Today I started painting the Lightning.  I'm doing it in this scheme.

It's currently white with a red tail which looks like it should have a big white kangaroo on it...

And the Me 109 is finished.  Now to attach it to the top of the Me 262.

NARSES2

I like those Japanese pre-war schemes
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

zenrat

Yes, it'll look good on a 1950's British jet interceptor... :o

Man you know what, I was poking around looking at kits the other day when I realized Fujimi has a bit of a copy-cat game going on. Seems they made their own box art and font kits, clearly copying Hase. They later copied the style they used for the photo and little title bar at the bottom kits, too.

You probably already know all about them but I hadn't seen them before! Interesting as a curiosity in the least.

That's the most unfinished finished model I've ever seen.  ;D

Superb paintwork there.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Thanks Kit.
My thinking is it's the Messerschmitt Factory hack.  Kept out the back under a tarp and fired up when needed.
You'll note it is unarmed.

Brad.  I wasn't aware of them.  It does seem to be a case of copycatting.
I have noticed that some Japanese kit manufacturers tend towards maximum picture with minimum labelling.  In some cases it can be hard to find the manufacturers name.

Not necessarily copycatting ---- quite a few manufacturers went into collaboration with each other and produced each others models for various markets which they had no access to.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Continued painting Yakkety Yak.  Putting the second coat on the topside colours.  Got one left to do but some will require a 3rd coat.

JASDF Lightning got a coat of gloss clear preparatory to decals.

In a bit of stash rummaging  I realised that I have acquired 4 Harrier kits and its about time I build one.  The old Airfix one has had the nozzles used elsewhere and is earmarked to be a Harrier B (cut-price non VTOL version) but that leaves two Hasegawa GR1s and a new Airfix one (can't remember which type).  I think i'll get stuck into one of them when i've cleared some bench space.  I'm thinking paint and weapons whiff.  Maybe Central/South American with a blue/blue/blue wraparound camo scheme and Soviet ASMs.

I like the sound of all of this, including the future plans for the B version. I've never been a huge fan of the harrier, and I think one reason is that maybe because it's sort of akin an engorged mosquito. Anything that can streamline one a bit sounds good.

Bluex3 sounds glorious! Might I recommend island nation perhaps?   ;D ;)

Is PLUMP.  ;D

The ones with the pointy noses help with the illusion as well.

PR19_Kit

I don't disagree about a Harrier being plump, in fact it's FAT!  ;D

But a Mosquito is exactly the opposite, being slim and svelte, and it has two engines, and it's made of wood, and it has two crew and it won't go vertically upwards and sideways etc. etc.
