Finished the PSR on the Edsel's  added fins.  I can't now not think of it as "the car with the c**t on the front" - thanks Jon

Any car can be improved by adding taller fins...............  ;D ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That probably depends on your definition of Improved.

Today I mostly concentrated on the GB Kawanishi.
But I did find time to put some white undercoat on the underside of the Grach and flow some glue into the larger more gap joints on the Spitfire.
This Su 25 will be a RW aircraft.  I have a Linden Hill sheet containing Rooks from Chad, Iran and Macedonia amongst others.  I just have to chose one.

I used the Chad scheme (but not the decals) on my MiG 27 Flogfoot.

Watching winter olympics footage while I type this.  I say it every four years but
FIGURE SKATING IS NOT A SPORT.
They could make it a sport by adding points for rotational velocity or distance thrown but until then it remains a performing art like rhythmic gymnastics.
I was watching speed skating last night.  There seemed to be far too many blokes skating at speed round a course that was too small to accomodate them all.  A Korean guy's skates let go and he went down and in doing so kicked the French guy behind him in the face with 18 inches of cold steel.  Now THAT is a sport.
I'm looking forward to the hockey although there never seem to be as many punch ups as I expect.  It's like they dial it down a notch because they are representing their country.

Most of the players representing a good chunk of Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Canada all know each other from the NHL, so there isn't much need for fisticuffs.

Yeah, right...

So I was doing a spot of shed reorganising this morning trying to clear some space to work on some furniture and I kept coming across things I had forgotten where they were.
This is action figure scale (prolly dates back to the late 80's) and is waiting to have the top gun mount fixed.

Totally agree with you mate. There's a few "sports" creeping into both the Winter and Summer Games which aren't sports in my view. Rhythmic Gymnastics for instance. Don't get me wrong I can see and appreciate how hard it is and all the effort that goes into it but once you introduce the concept of "style" points or any other which are awarded on the whim of a judge then it's not sport to me.

I'm not really interested in the Winter Games at all but do find it amusing that it's to cold for some of the events  Also over here in the UK the BBC are desperately trying to sell it to an audience, which whilst paying for the it's coverage via the Licence fee is not that interested and that's starting to get on my t*ts.

I think, that with the possible exception of curling no sport should be allowed in the winter games unless the entrants wear a helmet.

Helmets could be useful in Curling as well if you get any disputes  ;D

Bobsleigh/sled, Luge, Skeleton & Ice Hockey are the only Winter Olympics events that interest me as a spectator but, 30-35 years ago, I wouldn't have minded trying Biathlon, as well as those listed (if I'd lived somewhere where solid water existed outside a freezer).

I've started the 1/96 Clipper Ship for my Brother in Law.
It's huge.
So far i've glued the halves of the hull together and added some internal braces.
I've been looking for reference material but not surprisingly there is a lack of original colour photos from the 1850s.
Lots of pics of completed models though so i'll just base my colour scheme on one of them.

I've also pulled out a car kit I painted last summer.  It's an "Ita Sha" Toyota so there will be intensive decaling to do.  Today I painted the black trim round the windows.

Painted the underside of the Su 25.  I'm going with the Chad scheme and for once i'm going to have a go at airbrushing a camo scheme.  This is mainly because its got good engraved detail and I want to see how it looks with thin airbrushed paint but without mucking about preshading.

PSR on the spitfire.

Chassis assembly on the Batmobile.

Interior painting on the Edsel.

Lots of late 19th, early 20th Century preserved clippers around the world. How about Cutty Sark to start with ? Most fixtures and fittings would have been fairly standard I would have thought ?

Didn't think of that.  I just Googled "Sea Witch".

Thanks Jon.  The kit actually comes with very comprehensive rigging instructions but the more help the better as there is bound to be something unclear.

What I was looking for was help with what colour to paint the hull beneath the water line and whether the decks and masts etc were dark or light wood.
ISTR from a visit to the Cutty Sark many many moons ago that it had a copper plated hull.  All the pics of built models of Sea Witch show it a red colour.  Anti fouling paint I guess.

More painting on the Toyota body today.  A carefull study of the instructions has revealed a thin silver line around the outside of the black part of the window trim.  This explains the inclusion of a small piece of adhesive backed metal foil in the kit.
It probably states all this very clearly on the Instructions if only I could read Japanese.

Also more painting of the Edsel interior.  I've come up with a red, blue, white and black scheme.  It looks better than it sounds.

PRS on the Spit.

As soon as I got the new Crusader into the shed I tore into that and glued the two halves of the bang seat together.

And on the Grach i've reverted back to my childhood.  I am trying something new (to me) with the masking - using play doh snakes.  The smell and taste (look, I got some stuck on my fingers OK) of it took me right back 45 years.
