Ahh! Cool. Knowing they exist at all is good, I'll find one eventually. I'm no hurry on it, for sure.....    the thrill of the hunt is half the fun.

I'm determined to turn non-airliner 1/144 kits into Airliner stuff. In fact, I'm working on a British Caledonian F-4F. Another potential one is an Aloha airlines Kawasaki twin engine plane.. . ..

A BCal F-4F? The mind is MEGA-boggled!

Of course Boeing made some civvie Chinooks, no doubt with a '7xx' number (JCF will tell us  ;D), and BA used to fly them for a while.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Awwww, you'd think they could have come up with something more notable than that.

True, but considering it was Vertol design before Boeing bought the company, they probably didn't bother to change the number at the time, unlike how they did with the MD-95/717

Original H-47 is the Model 114, civil is Model 234, H-47D and on Model 414.
Only Boeing Commercial Aircraft jetlners receive 7XX numbers.

See, I told you JCF would know.  ;D

I give up on trying to understand Boeing Model Nos. I think I'll stick with 'Chinook' and 'Stratosomethings'.

Yeah buddy....   the Phantom will have glorious blue fin (and perhaps wing tips where they angle up) white fuselage with some nice NMF on the bottom of the fuselage that wraps around a little onto the nose area. Truncated Lion design for the fin and a bit of "cheatline" down the sides...   In my minds eye it looks really nice. Should translate well into plastic.

I forgot all about the civvie Chinook!!  Of course, I never knew what it was called, just that it existed. I had a toy of one when I was a kid, in fact.  ;D  But anyway,........  that's good to know.

"Vertol 234" sounds like a chemical to defoliate plants or something. . .

Manufacturers model numbers can be interesting;D
Especially when after a change in management, or a merger/sale, some bright spark decides
to number everything ever done by the company to a single scheme, regardless of the original
system or, as in some cases, the fact that there was never was a system or assigned numbers
at all.
:o  ;D

Here's one... what're they going to do after the 797 for the airliner series?

The whole field of product names and numbers is fascinating if not completely mysterious at times
