Depending on the scale of the model you could print that out on some decal paper and apply it to a tank or aircraft. That would be trippy.

I'd argue they could all be adequate camo if you were intending to hide in a paint factory, on an alien planet or from someone seeing in different wavelengths to us.

Scratchbuilding straight eight extractors is easier than for a vee eight as I don't need to get both sides to look the same.

Thanks Kit, but I only built the head and the transmission.  The block is from the Italeri 1/24 kit.  I based my head design on that of what was at one time known as the UJM (Universal Japanese Motorcycle).  i.e. cams bearing directly on top of the valves (with bucket & shim adjustment) driven by chain from the centre of the crankshaft.
The inlet side features a scratchbuilt sheet metal manifold and a resin 14:71 supercharger originally intended for a Top Fuel dragster or Funny Car.
Clutch housing is a 1/24 wheel and some parts from the parts boxes, gearbox is scratched up from tube & sheet and the transfer case is from a 1/25 Monster Truck.

I managed to get in 1/2 hour before work today and sprayed the body.  I also glued the front wheels on.

The 1919 Ballott was the first to use the bucket cam followers,
FIAT introduced the interchangeable shims on buckets in 1966
on the Lampredi designed DOHC four. It was a much simpler
solution to adjusting the valves, previously the buckets were
adjusted by grinding the cam contact face. I did the valve
adjustment of the FIAT four on both my Lancia Beta and
FIAT 131.

The Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 straight-8 engine of 1931 had a two
part crankshaft with a center drive to the four camshafts, the
engine had two separate four cylinder engine banks. The cam
drive also drove two center mounted Roots blowers, one for
each bank.
The engine was developed into the 8C 2900 aka P3 engine.

All my umpteen (well, five anyway...) Hillman Imps had bucket tappets with different shims to adjust the clearance.

With an OHC engine it's a REAL pain to do, even with only four cylinders, as you have to remove the cam and all the tappets before you can change the shims. Plus you need zillions of shims in stock as you never know how thick they need to be.  :banghead:

It's easey peasey with the FIAT design, line up the
drilled timing holes on the camshaft drive pulleys
with the cast in place arrows on the head, measure
the gap with a feeler gauge, determine the needed
shim, depress the bucket with the neat little lever tool,
pull out the old, slip in the new.
Simples.  ;D  :thumbsup:
