When transporting a load by road which exceeds certain maximum dimensions Victorian law (it maybe Federal law - i'm not sure) requires black on yellow retroreflective signage reading "OVERSIZE" to be displayed on the front of the tractor and rear of the trailer.  Flouro orange flags are attached to the widest point of the load (which in the case of a Cat D9 is the corners of the blade).

Its the same here in the States, although there are 51 different sets of rules governing oversize/overweight permitting.

Escort vehicles are also required.  Usually a ute, 4WD or panel van with a folding OVERSIZE sign on the roof.  Oh damn, now I have to buy a 1/35 civilian vehicle...

True.  But the rules just happen to be the same.

I have ordered a Meng 1/35 Hilux which will be perfect as an escort vehicle.

Yeah -- well  --- these do have to have 'Oversize' banners, but it usually means get off the road completely     This is now sitting on it's foundation just a few miles from where we took this pic.

I used to watch a reality show called Monster Moves which featured this sort of thing.
I was fascinated by the lack of OH&S precautions in a lot of the moves.

I always thought it would be cool to "ride" in the house whilst in transit.

On that note, one of my favorite scenes in Starman was when he hitched a ride in mobile home while it was being hauled down the highway.

Decaled the Cessna today.
I scanned the kit decals and modified them slightly to fit (and adjusted the colour).

Got sidetracked yesterday.
While at work I was thinking about my current builds and I realised that despite hand painting camo schemes being the thing I prolly enjoy most about aircraft modelling, none of them required it.
So I pulled down a Hasegawa F-15J (should be a quick build OOB) and will be painting it in a scheme based on Panther G's RAAF retro profiles.

Nice! I love F-15. Can't wait to see it, especially with camo. It's funny, I was having the same thoughts today... I wanted to start a simpler build and opted for one with a four color camo scheme. Hoping for something therapeutic.
