Oh yes, that looks SO right!

It does indeed. Particularly impressed with the white tail, it can be a difficult colour to get right, or at least I find it can be  :-\

Don't suppose you've got a decal for the nose art, Fred? ;) ;D

Unfortunately not.  I can find suitable images on line but I can't print them except onto white* and then trimming right up to the edge is too fiddley in 1/72.

Grey primer over the whole model then flat white enamel as an undercoat over the tail.  Both aerosol.
Then two or three coats of brush painted Vallejo white acrylic and acrylic gloss clear from an aerosol.
Then decals and finally acrylic satin clear from an aerosol.

* OK.  Yes I could print them onto clear but they would be too translucent.  I would really need an ALPS printer.

Cheers mate

Coincidentally I bought a bottle of Vallejo white at the MK show

How about printing onto white decal paper with the background paint colour as a surround to the artwork? I've tried that a few times and while matching the colour can be a RIGHT PITA it does look good when you manage it.

Might be easier to print on white, leave a white border and carefully touch it in with paint.

A full (7 hour!) day of work today so minimal modelling other than sit at the dining table watching re-runs of Frasier and Big Bang Theory while painting the Royce.

I've vague memories of what that (and 8/9/10/11/12 hour days) were like  Mind you since I've been retired my days have always been busy, the difference is that it's "my" busy rather than someone else's  ;D

Thanks Brad F.

An F-35 in a white tail Boomerang or Kittyhawk scheme would be good.  Unfortunately there doesn't seem to have been an RAAF P40 with both a white tail AND a sharks mouth.

Somebody should remedy that then...  ;)

Coincidentally I have two P40s in the stash...

Uncle duty this weekend so not much done other than a bit more camo on the Royce and some Lego building.  Mrs z built a chopper and I built a SAM and shot it down.

You should have gone in for the 'Lego Masters' thing, then...  ;D

zenrat

Well, that was what inspired her.

We've been watching Lego Masters.  The competitors have some serious Lego mojo.  As an Engineer by training I was particularly impressed with the bridge building challenge.
Maybe we could come up with a Whiff Masters competition...
