The PJ figures are nice

They are.  I thoroughly recommend them.  These are Civilian Pilots but I also have Transport Pilots.

1/72 positive rivets... something i don't think i'll ever try to do, unless it's just a few of them... IMHO, it's that sounds like torture more than it sounds fun...

They do look good, but they seem busy, preparing for taking, are they?  ;D
The molding looks to be very clean. I've ordered a set of AH-64 pilots for the cobra i'm building. I always like to have pilots in my models but i've only bought aircraft pilots so far. I think that with the lot choppers i've recently bought, i'll soon have to order more of those fellas. ;D

They've just touched the Mystery Inc Boxcar down on a remote back country strip and are ready for a quick dust off just as soon as the van and the meddling kids are off loaded.  It has to be quick because a mummy and The Wolfman are lurking.

Hey, Fred - good progress there.

For the rivets, what about rolling/pushing a razor saw or a curved PE saw along the rivet lines?

The teeth are good and close together, and if you can ignore (or the paint will fill) the small divot before the lump that's pushed up, it could work for you.

I have had pretty reasonable results with the method. FWIW

Thanks for the suggestions and the info.
TBH this Airfix Sea King, being the old mould, isn't worthy of such effort and attention without a lot of extra work to bring the rest of it up to scratch.
So i'll be sanding some rivets off and I suspect I may lose the rest under paint.
I'll save the links though as I can see myself looking for this info in the future.

Today I had one of those days where I spent 3 hours in the shed and didn't seem to do very much.  Probably because much of that time was spent masking the Sea King canopy.

I am here with the Eggstang.

That's Ocean Grey and Dark Green over Medium Sea Grey.  Sky blue rude and the spinner will be red.  I dropped the sky fuselage band as there is no room for it.

I've been thinking about my stash.  It's all in the same place and Its occurred to me that that if a bushfire comes through I will lose it all.  What I really need (in IT parlance) is an off site back-up.  A second copy of every kit in the stash (plus an example of every finished build - or the kits needed to replicate them) stored somewhere far enough away that they wouldn't get hit by the same disaster.  I'd also have to buy two copies of every new kit from now on - one for  the stash and one for the back up.
I can just see Mrs z agreeing to this <sarc>.  Although as she works in IT she should appreciate what I would be trying to do.
;)

The camo on the Eggstang looks very good!
What paint brand(s) did you use?
Regarding the stash backup, i'd like to do the same, i'd just have to win the lotto for that... ;D

Thanks DFZ.

Vallejo acrylics applied with brushes.

Thanks, brotha!
I've been wanting to start painting that camo on my Spitfire but i'm not too sure about the Tamiya colors that supposedly are a match for those.

For one minute I looked at that rudder and thought it was the start of an Italian Eggstang, and no I haven't had a drink

Nice work on the cammo

I have been going through the process of purchasing for myself those things I wanted for xmas but didn't get.
One of them was a second paint rack for Vallejo paints.
Having assembled it I spent thisarvo reorganising my paints.

Oh my life, that looks SO organised Fred!  :o

I can't get my paint collection anywhere near as tidy, and I've tried. Oh, how I've tried!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Mines fairly organised. I have a series of small 3 drawer cabinets (Poundsaver specials) and the paints are then filed by Nationality/Air Force. All within arms reach whilst sitting at the bench.
