The Teddy/Rabbit cross, or whatever he/she is, looks remarkably cheerful considering it's hung up from a screw in the top of it's noggin ?  ;D
Honestly Chris I expected a man of your education, worldly experience and good taste would have recognised a knitted reindeer when he saw one hanging from a tree...
Another one Mrs z brought home.

I picked up this gem today.  I like it because it has the same shape figure as me.

Scoot, that is excellent.  Everyone needs more Great Old Ones at this time of year.

Well it's now't like the reindeer I saw in Lapland a few years back  ;) ;D Still each to his/her own  ;D

I think it was my second married Christmas, 42/43 years ago ?, me and Mrs had just put the tree up and stood back to admire our handy work when the dog (believe it or not a Doberman) chased the cat in through the cat flap ! and the cat seeing the tree took refuge  Dog attempted to pursue and the pair of them were left sitting around the debris of said tree covered in decorations  It wasn't then but it's been amusing me ever since

Work on the fiddley bits of the Lightning is progressing.

Yakkety Yak got decals today.

Apocalypse Post van (now in red with missing paint chunks courtesy of the salt technique) has hand painted distressed Australia Post logos on the doors and tailgate.

Oh, and i've built and painted an Airfix 1/72 Bloodhound.  Just the missile so far.  The launcher is next but it's got more than a couple of short-shot parts which need replacing with scratched up ones.
I'd like to get six or eight Bloodhounds to mount under the wings of my B-36 as a sort of flying flak ship.  I don't think that'll happen though as even from Shapeways they are not cheap.
The one i've built is going to be mounted on a tracked chassis.

Hehehe, I LOVE that idea!   ;D ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes yes yes, as we all know from seeing them driving about daily, Australia Post vans are painted a much less orangey red.
However, I grabbed the wrong rattle can.  Lets just say exposure to fallout has bleached the paint orange.

Right, so on the basis that I don't see them every day  ;) should it be nearer the colour Royal Mail use ?

Aus Post vans are slightly brighter I think (from memory). Although that may just be that they appear that way because the sun is out here more.
I'm not sure if there is an official "Post Red" or they just get the vans in whatever red the manufacturer (they are mostly Renaults) uses.

I have started work on a Polar Lights 1/25 Batmobile.  This will be built OOB in memory of Adam West.  It's the full detail kit with a choice of engines, photo etch and figures of Batman & Robin.  I will build the Turbine engined version.

Ah right. Royal Mail still use the official Post Office Red

That Batman kit looks really nice. I was eyeballing one myself recently that went for cheap. I wanted it but all my money was given to mother for Christmas.  I'm going to find another, eventually, and build it and make a display base and cut up some plexiglass to make a box for it then send it to a friend as a gift in the post....... .......which leads up to the next order of business... the orange post truck! It looks nice, and and I'm a bit jelly because I've been looking around for US Post Office transfers for awhile now and I guess no kit has ever been made of US Post vehicles or they are hard to find?? Sheets even harder to find?!  I want to make a Post Office plane!

There are 3 Batmobile kits by Polar Lights.
Snapfit with prepainted figures moulded in black.  Possibly kerbside.
Glue kit without figures but with a bib block V8 as per the car Barris Built.  Moulded in Black.
Full Detail kit with unpainted figures and PE and resin with parts to built every variation of the Batmobile used in the 3 seasons of the Adam West TV show and the 1966 movie.  Choice of Big Block V8 as per the Barris car or Turbine engine as per the real thing.  Moulded in off white.
For a time they did a dual boxing containing the sniper and the glue kit together.

Brad C.  If you can find the US Post logo you want as a Jpg then e-mail it to me along with info on sizes and i'll have a look at printing you some decals.

Thanks!  Will look into it.  The US post office stuff is lovely in my opinion and I think would look great on certain aircraft... kind of like the Thunderbirds stuff.. same colors.

The Batmobile kit I was looking at; the car body was black so kind of glad I didn't get it! I'd rather have the full detail one. Now I don't feel bed for missing out on it.

Worked on the fiddley bits for the JASDF Lightning today.

Also, as my neighbour gave us 3 1/2 Kg of plums, I knocked up some Plum Sauce and a batch of Plum Jam.

The following photo was snapped at Dadswell Bridge Field during the recent filming of a TV motoring show (the one presented by an imbecile, a midget and an old man with a toy fetish).

You sure about that ? They all appear to be on 4 wheels and right way up  ;)
