Thanks H.  I may put aside my self imposed You Tube ban (i end up spending far too long looking at stuff I never intended to look at) and have a squizz.

However, Mrs z has done a very silly thing.  She has bought herself a Playstation 4 and borrowed me a copy of Grand Theft Auto V.
So that's my modelling time slashed drastically then...
Ohhhh!

When the new Red Dead Redemption comes out y'all should get it then we can go rustle cattle together... or whatever. Rootin tootin' poker and shootouts, etc.

Maybe, but then neither of us would ever get anything done...

I'm alright with that. I don't seem to anyway.

Tch, amateurs. I don't need a computer game to help me get nothing done: I can get nothing done without any external assistance at all...

It's at least handy to have an excuse, though!

Define "nothing".
Mrs z would claim that at the end of a day spent in the shed tinkering with various things (including models obviously) I have done nothing all day.
I would beg to differ.

Also, there is a difference between "doing nothing" and "not doing anything".  I'm just not feeling wordy enough to expound upon it at the moment.  Feel free to do so in my stead.

Have I mentioned I have been tinkering with 1/48 armour?
I've put together a Hobby Boss KV1 and am playing with paint at the moment.  If I am happy with the build then I have another Hobby Boss kit in the same scale - a T34 with full interior detail.

I've also started a Hasegawa Mitsubishi MU-2S.  It's going to be a zi aircraft and i'm modelling it in flight using one of the classic old Airfix stands.

I got this!!

There's a "meme" (less meme and more screen cap but whatever) going around that sums it pretty well I think:

I "deal with" this quite often. "Hey Brad, what you up to?" "Oh, ain't doin nothing." "OH good, so let's go do...."  "NO, you misunderstand, it's intentional." It's either that or people try to make plans for me (no one ever asks me what would be a good day to do something, they just TELL me that I'm going to do something on no notice) on my day off. I try to explain that my day off is just that. It's my day to rest from whatever I did the day before and to rest for whatever I'm doing the next day. I have work days and I have off days and rarely do they mix. There has to be a line drawn somewhere and that's mine.

I can relate to Brad's concept of actually INTENDING to do nothing.

It gives me time to clear my brain of the myriad thoughts that fill it up during each day, usually fuelled by my umpteen hobbies, and just sit there and NOT think about any of them.

Well I won't be doing nothing tomorrow.  We have a (european) wasps nest in the "flowerbed" alongside the driveway right where Mrs z parks her car so it will be a day for chemical warfare.

I would suggest you make it a night for chemical warfare because euro-wasps're diurnal & don't go out at night, so you're more likely to KILL 'EM ALL!!! & less likely to be stung by a swarm of the b@$t@rd$.

Nobody here to make excuses to except me, and I'm such a nice person that 99 times out of 100, I let myself off...

Ahh yes, always on good terms with "the boss" that way.  ;D

That's what I tell people about one of the reasons why gave up working for others and run my own small business. If I skip work, show up late, get sick, whatever... I'm not going to fire myself.  That stuff out of other people got old. Well, i could understand for someone skipping work or something but firing someone for having pneumonia or because they can't walk? Give me a break.......     Worst case scenario this way, though: I lose customers; but I won't lose my livelihood!  (I haven't lost any yet for these reasons though... people seem more than happy to give me a couple extra days if something happens)
-Sprues McDuck-

zenrat

I'm crap at being in charge - no one ever does what I tell them.  I suspect that would still apply if I was my own boss and I WOULD have to sack myself.
Prolly for insubordination.

Problem is I can't see the nest - only that they are coming and going from under some detritus in the flowerbed.
I saturated the area today with LIQUID WASP DEATH (not real name) and activity has reduced.  Surprisingly they didn't seem to object and I got away unstung.
What I really need is a bomb disposal robot (or a gullible teenager) to go in and push away the crap on the flowerbed so I can see the nest.

PSR on the Mu2, turbo attached to Kraz engine and some paint on the inside of the Edsel body.
I also pulled a '53 F100 from the Shelf of Disinterest.  I had performed custom bodywork on it but got bored with the PSR and put it away.  It shouldn't take too much more to get it ready for paint but I discovered that in the interim both A pillars had got broken at the point where I had cut them to chop the roof.
