This is so awesome on so many levels!

Union blue...

The "50" States of the Union Number.

And, of course, the name of the true winning general!

Has any y'all seen the 1:1 scale General Lee whif, the General Grant?:

Went over to support one of the sisters-in-law who was having a fund raising buffet in her cafe to raise money for victims of the Laos dam collapse.
A rather fine Thai buffet accompanied by traditional dancing.
$2000 raised.

A tidy sum, well done to all  It's nice when you can combine enjoying yourself with helping others

It is, although watching traditional dancing isn't really my mug of flat white.
I had to watch though as I got told off for doing sudokus on my phone.

Attached the last parts to the H21 today.  They'll just need a lick of paint.
I then spent time rummaging in the stash wondering if I should start a new RAF 100 GB build.
Other than that see the threads for the Harrier B, BA3 Armoured car and Javelina.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yup. It's when they try and drag you up to join them that I normally find my bladder has me needing to go somewhere else urgently

I have narrowly avoided having to join in hula dancing in Hawaii by volunteering to take photos but in this case there was no danger due to limited room.

H21 is finished.  I need to write some words and set up Dadswell Bridge for some photos.

PSR on the Boomerang is complete and painting has begun.  A comparison with a Special Hobby Wirraway (from which the Boomerang was developed) shows that grafting Wirraway outer wings onto a Boomerang would result in a Kit pleasing high altitude interceptor.

I have hula'd in the Islands, but not at a tourist show. This was in Kapeolani Park at a Hawaiian friends birthday BBQ. So it was with his family and I was a little  He was the guy who used to sit outside the International Market Place carving the wood. His wife taught at Hawaii State.

BBQ's are not allowed in the park but when the black and white pulled up there was an advantage to having a lot of rather large Samoan's among our group ;)

More paint on Boomerang today.  I''m doing it in one of Airfix's serving suggestions - beige/green camo over blue with a white tail.

Writing this while waiting for a pot of tea to brew.
Half way through a session i've photographed the Javelina and H-21, slapped more filler on the Harrier B and made a start on painting the Armoured car.
I have come to the conclusion that water isn't the right thinner for Vallejo acrylics when airbrushing them.  It works fine when brushing but when sprayed it does odd things.  I'll try using Tamiya acrylic thinners (because its what I have) and see what happens.  Failing that, maybe method will do the trick (again, because its what I have).

Its rather dank in my shed - about 12 degrees and damp.  A while ago the heavens opened and a torrential rainstorm dumped its load onto the tin roof making it impossible to hear the end of the Hawthorn vs Geelong football game on the radio.
Hawthorn won by two goals.

Mrs z is cleaning the bathroom and has taken leaf out of my book by putting on LOUD music while she does it.
I favour rock or heavy metal to clean to.  She has chosen Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture and Prokofiev's Knight's Dance from Romeo & Juliet.

Absolutely.  But they need to be played LOUD so as to best appreciate the interplay between piano and forte.  Especially the cannons in the 1812.

Almost RW Airfix RAAF CAC Boomerang.  Now in paint.  Decals are sitting on a windowsill de-yellowing but I am not sure the sun is up to the task at this time of year.

It took a little PSR but it's coming together quite nicely so far.  Airfix should re-pop this as part of their classics range.

My memories (but see the thread about my resin Whirlwind find) are quite positive of that old Airfix kit

I must admit it's surprised me.  I thought I had built one as a kid and it was horrible.  However, I may be getting it confused with a Matchbox Buffalo.
I want (at least) one more as I looked at it when it was in patchy white undercoat over grey primer and thought "Hmmm, Finnish".

Did a few touch ups today.

Also made a (second) drawer for my massive shed storage unit and display case.  Two down, four to go.  The two i've made are the largest ones but the remainder will each take the same time to make.

Airfix Buffalo is probably far easier a build then the SH one I have in the stash for sure.

Now a Finnish one in the colours of the Buffalo's they flew would be very interesting
