You'd think i would get the bloody song title right wouldn't you.
:banghead:

The song was about losing a friend - as in you're gone, i'm not going to see you around anymore.
That sentiment was appropriate on Friday.

The crowd refrain was apparently a complete surprise to the band.  At the wedding the speed at which impressionable children were hustled away out of earshot was commendable.

RDO today so I got lots done.

Mainly on the Cannonball Run Bugatti.
I've got two weeks to finish this.
Here's the body as it is.

Looks worse than it is.  The rear compartment is going to be covered with a tonneau cover so no more work needed in there.  Just a run of 1mm rod around the top edge as a bead.
Paint on the engine has reacted with something which for once has worked in my favour as it has a nice scale appropriate crackle effect.
I'm still hopeful of finishing on time although it won't be shiny paint - maybe even just a shot coat of primer for the race.

I also started playing with my long abandoned twin Allison engined Dragster project.  I may resurrect it if I can find a body shell to use.
The chassis and drive train are pretty much finished but I used the body shell I was going to use (cut down '51 Chevy) on something else.

Due to work rearing it's ugly head I only managed to get 1/2 hour in the shed today.
I scratched up and glued into place a firewall on the Bug.

This as far as I got with the Twin Allison project (or Chefor Willisson as I christened it - Chevy + Ford+ Willys + Allison).

And this is what I used the body on.

There ain't no substitute for cubic inches!  ;D

That second chassis looks very familiar, is it from Tony Nancy's 22Jr Roadster by any chance?

Now I know now't about cars etc, but would the front chassis/suspension of the Chefor Willisson support the weight of those engines ?  :o
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

PR19_Kit

It used unobtanium axles and traction rods so it wasn't really a problem.  ;D ;)

Shadow Boxer's Chassis is from the AMT Hippie (sic) Hemi kit.  I think it was originally the TV Tommy Ivo FED (Front Engine Dragster) chassis.  It has a longer wheelbase than the 22 jr dragster.  I want to take some better pics of Shadow Boxer so i'll take one of it with 22jr.

Chefor Willisson's front suspension is missing it's springs.  These would be coil-over-shocks.
You haven't seen the transmission yet.  This consists of both engines driving through an arrangements of gears to a powerglide transmission.

Long work day today (0600 to 1700 with minimal breaks) so next to no modelling although I did manage to attach some moulding around the top edge of the Bug body.
One last 4 hour stint tomorrow morning any my working week is over...

Ahhhh, Sunday...

...and a nice sunny spring one too.

Surprise delivery of a parcel containing a B-17E.  This time of year the contractors who do the parcels are "persuaded" to add an extra delivery on Sundays.  I don't know if their boss gets any extra money for it but I asked the driver and he told me they get the same amount per parcel (which is how they are paid - worked out per hour it falls well below minimum wage) on a Sunday as on a weekday.

I put some Alclad chrome onto the Bug's wheels, continued PSRing the bodywork and started wiring it's engine.

I finished painting the Mirage pilot.  Just needs a lick of wash and he's done.

Also worked on Drag Taxi and Geebeeski.

US Post Office has their non-union carriers work the Sunday deliveries...mainly for Amazon deliveries.

I'd rather wait.  These guys work long enough hours already.

That, sir, is the considerate and civilized attitude of an antipodean gentleman and exactly what we hope for from inhabitants of Whiffworld.

Current state of play with the Bugatti body.  PSR is done for now.  A bit more will be needed once I glue the tub to the fenders.

Looks as though it could do with a couple of horses up front and a slave at the back whispering "remember thee are mortal"  ;)
